Gown Dilemma

Thanks to all the w@wies who gave their comments on my gown. I’ve realized that it is pretty after all and I now have some ideas to make it grand. I couldn’t have survived this without the help of fellow w@wies who had willingly gave their honest opinions and advice. It really lifted up my spirits.

I will go to the gown maker either today or tomorrow to discuss my ideas. By then I will know what is doable and what is not. I’ll update you guys on the progress.

Trial Make-up

I had 3 trials. The first one was Oct last year with Kuks Reyes. The 2nd one was last Wednesday with Barbi Chan and last Sunday I had another with Eddie Bruan. Now I have to choose whom to get for our wedding. I’m choosing between Barbi and Eddie. I feel comfortable to both of them and they are both good at their craft. Barbi’s make-up is more on the natural, blushing bride look. Eddie on the other hand is more on the sophisticated and glamorous look. Hmmmmm. I think I need help again. Hahaha! I know! I am such an indecisive person.

I just want to share that I was so amused with Eddie. Other than his photography lights, he has a canon 8 mega pixels digicam. He took photos of me before the make-up so that we could see the difference. He puts all those photos he took in his album so he has a very nice portfolio. (Aliw nga si Morning ng kakatingin) Morning even kids Eddie to have his own photography business as he directs me to do certain poses. (hahaha!) He even served us breakfast. You read it right, he asked his staff to make us breakfast as he figured out that we are quite hungry by the time the trial was finished. He started working on me at 6:30 and finished at around 9:15. He even explained why he is doing an updo for my hair. He said that an updo would make my face look oval as I have a round face.

Barbi is also sweet and her staff was very accommodating. She works very fast. I think my trial HMU was finished in an hour. They even bought me batteries when mine went caput. They also called a cab so that I could conveniently go back to the office.

Here are the photos taken during the trial. For more please click this link : http://community.webshots.com/user/n1cemorn1ng and look for the TMU album. Please feel free to comment on the make-up.

Coordinator

We are very happy that we got the An Event to Remember coordination services. They have been so efficient and helpful. They have started helping us already Even though we just got their OTD package which will start 2 months before the wedding, they have started helping us already. Morning who originally did not want any coordinator was impressed by their professionalism and effectiveness. With them around, I’m sure we will have the wedding of our dreams.

The Gown Dilemma - Heeeeeeelp!!!

As said on my previous post. I wasn’t happy about my gown. Maybe because I have envisioned it A-line and flowing and me looking like a princess. I know that the gown that I have now is not that bad but I might look like a sponsor and not a bride. What do you guys think?

I’ve spoken to my mananahi and she told me that we couldn’t make the existing gown a-line as it is already cut. The only possible thing to do is to buy a new cloth and make a new one and I get to keep the old gown. This would cost me an additional 5K.

I called Carolina’s today to inquire if they still have my cloth on stock. Sadly, they only have 1 yard left. They even checked out other branches but to no avail. :c However, they told me that there will be a new delivery of a similar cloth that will be coming next week. They promised to call me as soon as it becomes available.

So what do you guys think? Should I ask my mananahi to make a new gown or just make do of the existing gown? Comments are extremely appreciated!!!!!

Marriage license - Check!

Morning & I took a time off last Thursday to apply for our marriage license. Since he will be coming from work, we decided to meet at Mcdo, Makati Ave. (Yup, Morning works at night. Hahaha! Ironic!) I was a bit late as I dropped by the office to have our documents photocopied. I figured it would save us a lot of time if we have everything ready. When I reached our meeting place he has already ordered our breakfast but we decided to just eat it at the City Hall. We do not want to be late for the seminar. We arrived at the Makati City Hall at around 8 am and we filled up some forms and paid our seminar fees. We then proceeded to the Marriage counseling room. There are already 6 couples inside when we got there. We waited for almost an hour before the seminar started. It was okay as this allowed us to have breakfast. Hehe.

The MCS is not that beneficial. Morning and I think it was crappy and a waste of time. Haha. Good thing that it was finished in just 45 mins. Since by 11 am we are already done and Family Planning was to start at 1 pm, we decided to stay at the Emax Cafe. We had the chance to watch the film documentary about McDo. (Eto yung ginawa nya experiment yung sarili nya just to prove na dangerous and McDo sa health) OMG!!!! Perfect timing…just when I’m finishing the sausage Mc Muffin that we bought that morning. Hahahaha!

We had lunch at Wendy’s and we went back at the City Hall to attend our FPS. It started at exactly 1 pm. It was really beneficial and we learned a lot of useful things. Additional perk is that it was really funny. (Katawa yung speaker, may pauna pa na parental guidance daw yung paguusapan. Kung may nababastusan pwede daw mag excuse. ;) )

By 5 pm, we are done. We will be able to claim it by Feb 28. Yahu!!!! That’s one off our to do list.

Coordinator - Check!

Yipeeee! At last Morning agreed to get a coordinator. We got An Event to Remember. I’m really excited to work with them as Clarice and I have 2 suppliers in common…Batis Asul and Mang Boy Mahusay. We will have a meeting with them tomorrow.

Invites Update
I called up Unifair today and they told me that the invites would be ready by the end of the week. Yipeeeee! Morning will pick it up on Monday. We are soooo excited.

First Fitting

Life couldn’t just be all good things. I wasn’t able to sleep well last night because of this. I just tossed and turned, tossed and turned but I couldn’t sleep. Something is really disturbing me and it is stressing me out.

I was informed last week by Mommy Rose (the gown maker) that my gown is ready for fitting. I thought that it would just be the lining as it was only last month that we have finalized the designs of the gowns. I was really surprised to see that she has almost finished the whole thing. It really fits me well and the fabric was really beautiful. As I look at the mirror, I wasn’t displeased but the gown failed to captivate me. At first I do not know what is missing. So I asked my best friend, sister and even Morning to take a look. They all commented that the gown was beautiful but it was too simple to be worn by a bride. :c I agree. The reason why I wasn’t happy about it is because it was too simple. It looks like a gown for a principal sponsor. :c I was quite disappointed because I instructed Mommy Rose to make the silhouette A-line. She made it straight instead. I think that it will look grander if it is A-line than straight. I have to talk to Mommy Rose to see if we can still do some repairs on the gown. The worst case scenario is that we have to make a new one according to my specifications. :c I’m sooooo sad.

Invitations - Check!!!

We already got the mock-up invites!!!! Yipeee! Morning was at Unifair last Monday to approve the invites proof. We are really happy with our dealings with Shirley and Erwin. They are prompt and they are really patient with us. Morning is a bit particular with the wordings and spelling but they have been so accommodating.

We are happy also because we got it at a discounted price. They said that it will be ready for pick-up by first week of March. The mock-up looks so good so we are so excited to get the real thing. We are sure that it will be magnificent. Oh by the way, these wonderful invites are gift from our MOH. (Thank you so much Ivy!!!!)

I took a photo of it this morning to put it on our blog. Vhozzie our pet cat also wanted to have her picture taken so I also took a shot of her.

**********

I accidentally bought a new pair of shoes today. I seldom but things unplanned but my old reliable pair failed me at Glorietta today. I dragged the poor thing until we reached Landmark. It wasn’t a very pleasant experience as by this time Debbie & I are both hungry and walking with a broken shoe is a tiring task to add up is the challenge of maintaining my poise while doing so. Thankfully, we are able to reach our destination and we’re able to buy a new pair.

Wanted: Make-up Artist

Starring:
Barbi Chan
Eddie Bruan
Kuks Reyes

We are on MUA hunt this month. As you may have recalled, I had one trial with Kuks Reyes on our 2nd Anniversary. http://nicemorning.blogspot.com/2004_10_01_nicemorning_archive.html It looks good but Morning wants me to have 1 or 2 more trials so that we could chose the best among the rest. Hahaha!

Barbi is a must try for me. I was quite disappointed she’s already booked on our prenup date. Oh well! I’m scheduled to have a trial with her on the 23rd. Why on the 23rd? Morning & I will have a date to celebrate our 28th monthsary ( don’t laugh, we still celebrate every month ). O di ba para hindi sayang yung make-up.

Getting Eddie Bruan is a tough decision for me. I even asked the opinion of fellow w@wies to help me decide. Below is the post I made yesterday:

Hello peeps,I just need some inputs kasi nahihirapan akong mag-decide. I’m
scouting for a good MUA kaya tong Feb gusto ko matapos lahat ng
trial make-up then by March dapat nakapag-decide na kung sino ang
kukunin. Feb 27 and sched namin for prenup sabay na rin trial make-
up.
So after lunch ang punta namin sa Tagaytay. 2
pinagpipilian ko, nilagay ko na rin pros and cons of each one.

(1) Eddie Bruan
Pros :
Tagaytay.

Cons:
a. Since may wedding sha that day, sobrang aga yung sched nyang
trial.
b. Baka mailang ako kasi punta kami ng church ng 9 tapos naka make-
up. Bibiruin ako ng mga friends. (ngeks! babaw)

(2) Julian of Fringe
Pros :
a. Pwede nya ako ma-accomodate after ng lakad namin sa church.

Cons:
a. Hindi magka-jive personality namin. Mejo na-off ako nung kausap
ko sa phone.
b. Mejo ma-late yung prenup namin sa Tagaytay. The earliest we could
go there is 2 pm.

If you are on my shoes sino pipiliin nyo? Help naman please kasi
naguguluhan na ako sa kakaisip eh. Sorry kung ang haba saka mejo
makulit tong post na to.

Thanks guys!!!! More power to us. (ngeks!!!)

Thankfully, there were a lot of w@wies who gave their enlightening comments. They made me realize that it is really necessary to go to someone you are comfortable with. So in the end, Eddie Bruan is chosen to do my MU on our prenup.

I hope we could find “the ONE ” who can do wonders and transform the plain old me into a drop dead gorgeous bride. (hehe, wishful thinking……) =)

P-A-N-I-C!!!!!!

110 days before the BIG day!!!! No we are not freaking out because we are unsure of each other or we are afraid of what lies ahead after the wedding day. We are on Panic mode because there is too much to do and so little time. The BIG day is fast approaching and we are afraid that we won’t b e able to do everything that we have to do.

Coordinators….I thought this is the answer to our concerns. I’ve discussed the option with Morning but he wasn’t sold out with the idea because of the following :

  • Budget - he wanted to stick with our budget no matter what. Our budget does not include coords… so there!
  • “We Can Do It Without Professional Help” - This has been his battlecry. Need I say more?

I tried all tactics to convince him. Unfortunately, I failed. So I have raised the white flag and ended the battle. hehehe. If he thinks we can do it then by all means we can DO IT. To satisfy my need for security and appease the panicky me, we drafted a checklist. I’m sharing it here in our blog.

Welcome back to Blog World

After a looooooong while I’m back to blogging. Na-miss ko talaga to. The new year started with a BANG!!! Why? Kasi ba naman may sakit agad ako. Siguro sobrang pagod na rin. First week-end kasi ng January nag-attend kami ng convention then the next day nagpunta kami ni Morning sa Divisoria. Nag half day leave ako nun sa office. First stop was Unifair. We were so happy because we were able to chose a great invite design tapos swak sa budget. Nung ibigay ni Mr. Erwin yung quote dun sa design na gusto namin, nagkatinginan kami kasi it was really a lot cheaper than other printers. Yung sa QP almost double ang price. Sobrang happy talaga kami. We bought celadon organza ribbons at 120 per roll. Tapos nun nag-ikot ikot kami. And you know what? They are on sale. 50 bucks lang. Mura di ba? Shempre buy na kaagad. Hehehe. We bought 16 pcs. Hahaha! I’m not worried kasi ma-diskartehan naman ni Morning yun. So kumuha kami ng pedicab na naghatid sa amin sa Recto then doon kami kumuha ng taxi. Oks naman kasi hindi naman hassle. Katawa nga si Morning kasi nung nasa pedicab kami, hinawakan nya hands ko…hahaha first pedicab experience daw kasi sa Divi. The next day, dun ko na-feel yung pagod. Nagkataon namang na-ospital yung dad ni Debbie. I forced myself to go to work that day. I can feel that I’m coming down with fever kaya lang walang iba na gagawa ng work. That was one of the longest day for me. 6:30 na may pumapasok pa rin na trabaho. I called my boss in HK to inform him that I’m not feeling well and kung ok lang na tom na lang yung mga ibang work. I should have done this earlier that day kaya lang hindi ko rin kaya iwanan yung trabaho na alam kong walang gagawa. I know some of you can relate to what I felt that day. So yun, pumayag naman boss. Hilong hilo ako pauwi, I wanted to take a cab going home pero wala naman dumadaan kung meron man may laman. So nag-jeep pa ako. I was able to go home safe naman. I went straight to bed. I felt a little better after that.

The next day, sick na talaga ako. Waaaaaah! Inalagaan nya ako that day. It was a real sacrifice because he works at night and he is supposed to be resting during daytime. Pero he was really worried about me. Ayaw nya ako iwan kasi yung mga sisters ko may pasok sa work and school so wala talagang mag-aasikaso sa akin. He took the responsibility. I think it was one of the sweetest things he did to me. Dahil mataas lagnat ko nag-chi-chill pa talaga ako. He made me breakfast and lunch. I think effective kasi after lunch pinagpawisan na ako then bumaba na lagnat. I was really touched by Morning’s care during that whole week that I was sick. I felt secured and well cared for. He was there for me all the time kahit hindi convenient para sa kanya. He really is a priceless gift from above that I will be forever grateful for.
