Meeting with Batis Asul and 30 Glorious Months

04.23.05 - Batis Asul Meeting

Meeting naming with Batis Asul today. We were kinda late kasi yung system nila M0rn1ng nasira so nag-extend sha ng time. The appointment is at 9 am but we got there at 9:30. Buti na lang traffic wasn’t that bad for our travel time amounted to only 45 mins.

When we got there, we saw that they really prepared for the meeting. The table was set and the linens followed our motif. Gay was waiting for us. Andun din si Sir Jun (owner). We discussed the reception layout.

We will be having cocktails at the cabana. They will setup 6 cocktail tables and will serve the pica-pica there. The registration table, strings, Fiorgelato, and gallery will be there as well. After 30 minutes, the emcee will call everyone to the tables around the pool to watch the AVP. This will be followed by our grand entrance. Spotlight will be on us and as we go down the stairs of the cabana, our groomsmen and bridesmaids will pop party poppers. Weeeeee! We’re so excited.

The couple’s table would be placed inside the gazebo at the middle of the pool. Presidential’s table will be beside it and the cake table will be on the other side. The bridge nearest to the Gazebo will serve as the stage. Guest tables will be scattered around the pool. We also informed Jun that we don’t want tables to be concentrated in just one area as we want the place to look full. They took note of our requests and we are confident that the place will look wonderful.

We tasted our final menu after. We will be having:

Appetizer: Taco Dip and Chips
Salad Bar
Beef Stroganoff
Tropical Chicken
Fish Fillet with Tartar Sauce
Pasta Marina
Fresh Fruits for Dessert

We tasted all these and we are satisfied with our choice. We just asked Jun to tone down the sodium a bit for my mom and dad. We ate a lot…sira ang diet. Huhuhuhu.

Today’s our 30th Monthsary as well. O di ba libreng date. Hehehe.

04.24.05 – Post Monthsary Celebration at Red Crab

Since this is our last monthsary as mag-jowa (hahaha), we decided to extend our celebration. We had dinner at the Seafood Club – Red Crab in Greenbelt. Gusto sana naming buffet kaya lang sira diet so we just ordered the Fisherman’s Catch which is good for two. M0rn1ng loves grilled seafood so he ate to his heart’s content. I’m happy that he loves it for this month is my treat. We will definitely go back to this place.

Naaliw din kami ni M0rn1ng dun sa singer. So shempre nung break chika namin sha. Sayang kung wala lang kaming strings, we would have got his services for our wedding. His rate for reception is 5K. Parang DJ, Emcee and singer ang dating. Na surprise lang kami nung sabihin nya na he belongs to the group 92AD. When he gave me his card, I noticed na sha pala yung musical director. He told us that the owner of Red Crab is a close friend of the 92AD guys so he sings there every Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Every monthsary, we never fail to give each other a card. Natuwa lang ako dun sa bigay ni M0rn1ng. Ilalagay ko dito.

He also gave me lots of chocolates. M0rn1ng seldom gives flowers. Nung nililigawan pa nya ako he never gave me one. The first bouquet I received was on our first Anniversary. Yet, he never fails to give chocolates. Halos every month meron. =)

And oh before I forget. We received our second wedding gift today. Our Ninang Rose paid our Deluxe Poolside view room at Westin. We were surprised nung binigay sa amin yung card na key holder. Ang galing!!!!! Thank you po. =)

Check!!! – Shoes & Hotel for Preps

04.18.05 – Bridal Shoes

My sisters and I went shopping today. It’s been a long time since we did this due to our hectic schedule. I’ve always loved my sisters and they are my best of friends. When we were younger, we wish to have a brother but God did not grant us one. Now that we are older, we are thankful that we were all girls. We would talk about kikay stuff, go shopping and we can even borrow each other’s wardrobe.

Anyway, our first stop is Landmark. I don’t want to splurge on my shoes BUT I want it to look sexy and special. I’ve had a couple of trips to 3 different malls in search of the perfect shoes but to no avail. This time, it took me 3 tries on different shoes before finally finding the ONE. It makes me look taller, my feet look sexy and the price is reasonable. Perfect!!!!! I got it for only 895 bucks. Oooops before I forget, it’s comfy too.

04.19.05 - Nothing much happened today.

Morning just picked me up from the office. I feel sorry for he has to wait. There’s some work that came in late that I must finish.

We had dinner at Kitaro.

04.20.05 – Westin Vouchers

I finally got the Westin discount vouchers from Nol today. She’s a fellow w@wie who e-mailed me if I’m interested to buy her vouchers. She bought a Starwood Membership card but never got to use it. Since she read my post about the said topic, she offered the voucher to me. These are what I got from her:

(1) Special Room Rate of Php 2000++ for a Superior Room. (Regular Price is 3,700)
(2) Special Room Rate of Php 3000++ for a Delux Poolview Room (Regular Price is 4,500)

I got the vouchers for 300 each.

This means we got to save 1,550 because of the voucher. Yahooooo!

04.20.05 – Table Arrangement & Tea light Candles

I got some pretty nice ideas from browsing the net today. I hope Batis Asul and Mang Boy can recreate this. In any case, I’ll be bringing this picture on Saturday for our meeting with Batis.

Here is the pic of the tea light candle that we want. I wonder what kind of leaves are those wrapped around the glasses. Any ideas, anyone? By the way, I’m looking for someone to share these tea light glasses with. I thought of this because I do not have any use for it after the wedding. I hope we can find a kahati.

04.21.05 - Sent our Wedding Update to Clarice

I’m quite irritable these past few days. Blame it to PMS. Grrrrrrr!

Finally, I was able send Clarice our wedding update and our guest list. Their team can start with the RSVP by next week or first week of May.

Cecil Abad also texted me today. He wanted to apologize because he showed some the picture of my gown to some w@wies. I told him not to worry and I’m okay with it. I just didn’t want to share the pics at moment para may element lang ng surprise. Etching ko lang baga!!!! Hahahaha! I’m really convinced that he is really a kind person. Biruin mo mag-apologize pa para dun. =)

I’m on leave tomorrow to catch up on my volunteer work. We scheduled a meeting with Batis Asul on Saturday so I have to reschedule the volunteer work to Friday. I hope the meeting will go well. Wish us all the best!!!! Food tasting din pala ng menu and last na Monthsary naming ni Morning as boyfriend-girlfriend.

30 days to go na lang sa Saturday!!!!!! Weeeeeeeeeeeee! Happy 30 Months Dady!!!!

Message to Friends Who Dropped By:

DEBABY: Korek!!! Aja Aja FIGHTING!!!!

LILAC: Thanks for being happy for us. It really means a lot to us. We’ll be sharing the pix soon.

GRACE: Glad to know you already got Cecil. I’m pretty sure he can make the gown of your dreams. =)

ABIE ni HOWELL : Lapit na yung pix sis. One month to go…….. =)
ABIE CO: Nakakatuwa! Aliw talaga when there are people like you who join us in our happy moments. Thanks! ***hugs***

Another Long Post

04.11.05 – First Fitting: It’s a Miracle!!!

This is a very busy week for me as our boss from Hong Kong is here. He arrived around lunchtime and we had lunch with him at Italliani’s in Greenbelt. As usual we talked about some issues at work and his whole week agenda.

Cecil sent me an SMS message around 6 pm saying that he is really excited that I fit my gown. He said that it turned out prettier than he expected. I was like OMG!!!! He had finished it way ahead of schedule. He had finished it in less than 2 weeks. I asked h2b and my sister to accompany me to his shop.

My reaction??? Well, I posted it at the w@w e-group but for my blog documentary purposes, I’m posting it here.

I have to share this one because I’m soooooooo happy with how my gown turned out. Cecil Abad is a real miracle worker. Grabeeeeee talaga! Most of you have seen the old gown na hindi ko type di ba? I thought hindi na talaga magagawan ng paraan or kung meron man hindi na ganun ka-bonggacious. Boy I was wrong! Galing talaga ni Cecil, super creative. He was able to make my gown na parang gown ng mga princess. hehehehe. I can’t believe what I saw. Ang ganda talaga. Pati yung sister ko napa-wow! Kitang-kita na yung lace and beads. Hindi na kasi sha full lace. Nag-insert si Cecil ng organza sa first hip going down. So alternate yung lace saka yung plain organza. Talagang mega tawad kasi ako kay Cecil and he gave me a very reasonable price. Saka feeling ko kaya nya tinanggap yung akin kasi na-challenge sha na pagandahin and at the same time naawa sha talaga kasi harassed talaga ako nung nagpunta ako sa kanya. At grabe, natapos nya in less than 2 weeks. O di ba? Winner talaga.

God is really good and I thank him for sending an angel in Cecil. Thankful din ako sa lahat ng mga w@wies na nagbigay ng advice and support all throughout this dilemma. This e-group is truly heaven sent. Kaya more power to Mama Benz and Papa John! =)

Last night, I was able to sleep with a smile plastered on my face. Cinderella has found her fairy godmother. Fairytales do come true and it can happen to you. (hehehehe)

N!cE

I purposely didn’t include any pictures to surprise everyone. Ahehehe! Am I mean or what? :p

04.12.05 - Date Time!!!!

Yipeeee Tuesday is bonding time for me and h2b. This is the only day of the week when he picks me up from the office and spent quality time with each other. We had some time looking at the w@w emails and discuss our wedding preps. After dinner, he helped me pack our souvenirs. I’m so thankful that he is so into our preparations. =)

04.13.05 – Team Dinner and Inuman at Eastwood Libis

During lunch break, Debbie and I went to Glorietta to buy our boss a gift. We thought of buying him a towel with #15 embroidered but we ended up buying him boxer shorts. WAHAHAHA! Oh boy, are we naughty or what???? We went to Something Fishy in Libis for dinner. We had their sisig, grilled tuna belly, sinigang, crispy pata, and sweet & spicy squid (I’m not sure if this is really the name. I didn’t like it kasi). I ate way too much. So long diet. I’ll just start again next week. Hehehehe After dinner we went to Guellios (not sure of the spelling) to drink. I didn’t get to drink much because of the work the following day. Everyone had fun that night. I was home at around 2 am.

04.14.05 – QA Team Lunch with Vincent

We had lunch with Vincent at Banana Leaf and Curry House. We loved the food and had a nice talk on the things that we will be doing on the team in the coming months.

04.l5.05 – Ordinary Day

We gave the gift (boxer shorts) to our boss. Actually, we didn’t have the face to give it to him directly so Debbie and I just left the package on his table. When he returned and saw the gift, we heard him laughing. Hahahaha! Good thing that he is not married or else his wife will certainly kill us. :P
He left after lunch while the heavy rain is pouring. Poor guy!

After work, I joined the volunteer work and was home by 8 p.m. I got to see Morning for 20 minutes and we’ve discussed our things to do for the weekend. As soon as he left, Ivy and I started packing the souvenirs. We’ve finished quite a lot.

04.16.05 – The Groom Finally Went on His Barong Hunt

Finally, Morning was able to buy cloth for his Barong in Divisoria. The tailor also was able to get his measurements and they said that it would be ready by next week. Hmmmmmm! I can now imagine how dashing Morning will look on our wedding day. I can hardly wait. =)

Morning, my sisters and me had dinner together at Chowking in Waltermart. Morning and I had noodles for we are on a diet. After that, we went to the grocery to buy some stuff needed in the house.

We all slept late that night (1 am) for we finished the invites and packing of the souvenirs. (We ran out of ribbons for the invites. It was only today that we we’re able to buy the additional ribbons) Thanks to Morning, to my sisters Ivy and Noreen for helping me out. You guys are the greatest!!!!

04.17.05 – Celebrations Cake, Bookmark & Luminaries

We met Irma Yu of Celebrations Cake today. We talked about our cake design. I brought along a picture of the cake that we want as an inspiration. Here it is:

We particularly like the bottom part and most of all it fits our calla lily theme. She modified it a bit. Instead of square layers, she made it circle and the topper would be in upright position. Unlike in the one in the picture where in the bunch of flowers are diagonally lying on top. Irma said that she would get in touch with Mang Boy for the flowers. I’ll hear from them next week.

The most exciting part for Morning is the cake tasting. There are so many flavors to choose from: mocha, lemon, vanilla, strawberry, pandan, ube, and strawberry. The top 3 I like are: lemon, mocha and strawberry. Morning like strawberry the best so we chose that as our cake flavor. =)

I like Irma and I’m at ease dealing with her. Maybe because she is OC and creative. I’m glad we got them at the fair.

When we got home, we started to work on our bookmarks for the ceremony. We have an opening song where all guests are required to sing. So, we provided the lyrics in bookmark form. We are so happy to incorporate our monogram and calla lilies in the design. Here is the finished product:

Morning & I have also decided on our luminaries design. We will put sand on the bottom part to keep the candles stable and we will put ribbons on the mouth of the bottle. I’m sure that it will look great around the pool. =)

I thank God that Morning and my sisters are so into the wedding preparations. It made my life a whole lot easier and not to mention fun. =) We are also very happy to have accomplished many things this week. Aja Aja Fighting!!!!

04.09.05 – Fiorgelato & Soulful Mood

We were invited to the free ice cream tasting held at Fiorgelato’s factory near Paco Park. We arrived there a bit late because of the hassle brought about by my pet kittens that caused a cat fight between Morning and me. Morning wants to get rid of those kittens because I failed to litter train them. However, I couldn’t have the heart to throw them away. I pity them so much and I couldn’t bring myself to separate them from Vhozzie (their mother). Anyway, I went home at around 10:30 am from the volunteer work to find out that our house is in such a mess. To add up to that, it really stinks because we forgot to bring inside the litter box. There were poo-poo everywhere. Waaaah! That made me boiling mad and I could help but nag. Instead of consoling me, Morning blamed me for keeping all those kittens and said that I was to blame for all the mess. That started our bickering. Oh boy! It could really go overboard once both of you are angry at the same time. I end up cleaning the house alone because he wouldn’t want to help me. I guess he is punishing me for keeping the kittens. Of course this added up to annoyance because I’m really tired from the heat of the volunteer work.

After cleaning the house, I couldn’t help but cry because I’m so tired. However, I still got ready to go to Fiorgelato because we will fall behind our schedule if we cancel. We were able to leave at around 11:30. At the car, Morning apologized and I also said sorry for all the hurtful things that I’ve said. Funny how we say the worst things when we’re mad. We were there at around 12 and Omar greeted us. It was really ice cream galore for they had us try all the ice cream flavors there is. We decided to get the 6 flavors package: Strawberry, Double Chocolate, Cheese, Pistachio, Tiramisu, Cappuccino. The guys there are so accommodating and they got 3 thumbs up from us for quality customer service. We’ve signed the contract and paid 50% down payment.

We went to Rockwell afterwards to meet Bernard of Soulful Mood. It was great that they are having a short break when we got there. We discussed the song list and he said that they know all the songs. Great! We also gave them the map and discussed with them how to go there. Before we leave, they played RAINBOW of South Border for us.

It’s already 2 pm when we finally reached home and have lunch. I feel sorry because Morning haven’t had any rest. (He’s working on night shifts kasi). I’ll make up to him some other time. Promise!

04.10.05 – Nightmare & Hotel Hopping

Now I’m having one of those nightmares too. It was the 23rd and I am bust preparing for the BIG day. I was waiting for the suppliers (Coordinators, MUA, Florist, Photog) to arrive at the hotel however, they didn’t show up. I was extremely worried so I called up Clarice (our coordinator):

N!cE : Hi Clarice! What time ba kayo darating sa hotel? Hindi ba 9 am ang call time. 12pm na.

Clarice: Nice, di ba next month pa ang wedding mo?

N!cE : Ha? Hindi ba 23 ngayon?

Clarice: Oo pero, April 23 pa lang.

What was that? Hehehe. I’m getting those wedding jitters again.

By the end of the day, I was so tired. The heat was unbearable and it is causing me migraines. Morning came at around 7:45pm to pick me up for our hotel hopping. He found me sleeping on the couch. Hehehe. He asked me if I still want to go because I look tired after volunteering the whole day. I said yes as I want to be able to decide which hotel to book for our on the day preps at the soonest possible time.

Anyhoo, we were at Hyatt at around 8:30pm. The front desk lady asked us to wait for the assistant manager who will show us the rooms. Hmpft! We waited for an hour before the person in charge finally showed up. He showed us the Manila Bay suite and the Regency Club rooms. They were okay but not that impressive. We went to Heritage afterwards. We weren’t able to see any rooms because they only do oculars during office hours. Hmpft!

Now were only left with Vivere or Westin. Which do you think is better?

04.03.05

We watched Ms. Congeniality today. It was great to finally been able to watch a movie after a long time. We’ve been so caught up in our preps that we weren’t able to see a movie. The Part II is fun but I like the first one better. Anyway what do you expect? Sequels seldom outdid prequels.

We also got our souvenir labels from Robee stickers. They look good and they were able to finish it is a week. Great!!! =)

04.04.05

We are sooo happy! We are done adressing all our invites. They are now ready for distribution.

As of this time (04.08.05), we already distributed half of our invites. I hope we can distribute all by the 15th. A lot of our guest find our invites pretty. Great job by Unifair! =)

04.05.05

M0rn1ng picked me up from work today and we went to Market Market to look around for bridal shoes. We didn’t see anything that caught our fancy because we hadn’t have the chance to really look around as M0rn1ng needs to be at work at 9pm. I had a bit of a tampo because I’m adjusting to his new schedule again. (As a background, M0rn1ng works for a call center. His usual working sched is 10pm but with DST, it will move up an hour earlier). I hate it when his work is at 9pm because we have no enough time to bond and talk about things. He knows about it so we fixed our schedule to accommodate each other…then, i’m happy again.

After he left for work, I started working on the packaging of our souvenirs. I was able to do 5 boxes.

04.06.05

M0rn1ng & I were able to meet today for 30 mins before he went to work. I showed him the souvenirs and he liked the packaging. At first, he didn’t like the idea of wrapping the boxes but I am really stubborn and persisted that it should be wrapped. Finally he gave in. So, I’m really happy that he appreciated my idea.

I had so much fun wrapping that I forgot all about the time. I slept at around 12:30am and was able to finish 20+ boxes.

04.07.05

My mistake again. All these staying up late made me sick. I woke up with a splitting headache and sore throat. It was a good thing that work is not that hectic so I called in sick.

Our landlady arrived at around 8am. A minute after Morning arrived. It was a great chance to finally introduce him to our landlady and inform her of our wedding plans and that we are to stay in her house. She congratulated us and said that there’s no problem as our contract allows us to have 5 people occupying the house. =)

After our landlady left, we had breakfast. M0rn1ng, knowing that I was sick, brought breakfast and medicine. He also gave me a quick massage. In as much that I would love him to stay, I asked him to leave because he’s tired from work and he needed rest. He left at around 9am. I just slept the whole day.

04.08.05

Thank God that I’m feeling better now. The rest that I took yesterday really did the trick. Good decision. Since I’ve been on leave yesterday, I had a lot of work to do. 300+ mails on my outlook plus some issues. Thankfully, work was done at the end of the day.

With only 1.5 months before our BIG day, I’m beginning to panic with all the things that we should do. We made a schedule so that we can stay focused on the last leg of the preps.

Good News!

After the sad story of the gown which gave me sleepless nights, it’s now time for good news. We are all set for our honeymoon. It’s going to be at Bohol Beach Club and we are so excited.

Vince (WAYS Travel) delivered our tickets and vouchers today. I’m pretty sure that Morning will be ecstatic. I can’t wait to show him the tickets.

Gown Saga

I’m also thankful to God for helping me and for giving me the greatest support. H2b was really supportive all the way, my mom, sisters, best friend, coordinator, great boss, tapos my w@w pa. Grabe! Daming blessings. =)

Anyway, I’ve done a lot of thinking and soul searching on what I really want. I’ve realized that the gown wasn’t really bad in the first place. Kasi it was I who chose the cloth so gusto ko talaga sha. I was disappointed because I’ve instructed the mananahi to make it a-line but unfortunately hindi nasunod. I’ve showed her a picture in one of the bridal mags of the design that i want. The only addition are the cap sleeves. Yung nasa mag kasi strapless. Feb was our first fitting. I thought
lining pa lang ang I-fit but then….lo and behold, the gown was almost done. There is something I didn’t like pero hindi ko ma-figure out kung ano. Siguro nga yung lower part kasi nga gusto ko a-line. I’ve talked to the mananahi and asked her why the cut is straight, she told me na kulang yung tela and yung width daw ng tela ko 45 inches lang kaya hindi pwede ang bias cut. I told her my concerns and she said na gagawin nyang mermaid para daw gumanda. Last Sunday, I went to their house for the final
fitting. I still didn’t like what I saw. So that was the whole story, I want to share it here baka may makuhang points yung mga b2bs who are starting to prepare. Here are my lessons learned :

(1) Our wedding gown is important and wag naman natin tipirin. It’s okay to scrimp on the entos gown but never on your own gown. The spotlight is on you on that day apos pangit naman kung mukha kang kawawa.

(2) Having said #1, go to a reliable gown maker. Yung sure mo na magagawa yung gusto mo. Scout around and compare each one. In my case, that mananahi made my gown last time when I was a bridesmaid. Maganda sha and all but I haven’t considered na iba yung wedding gown. I didn’t bother to take a look at the pictures of the bridal gowns that she previously made.

The damage has been done and I don’t think getting angry at myself and to the mananahi will do us good. Besides, i have my fair share in this whole booboo. So, i’ve decided to look for a solution. It was a good thing that in the midst of it all, I’ve read Abie ni Howell’s rating on Cecil Abad. I called him and told him my problem. He told me to come to his shop so that he could take a look at the gown and see if he can alter it to my liking. I posted my options in this e-group and a lot of you have validated that #2 is the practical choice. I’ve visited a lot of
stores with ready made gown but I haven’t found the one that I’m looking for. Since I couldn’t sleep thinking about it and I couldn’t afford to waste time, I told my boss my problem and he agreed to give me a leave yesterday.

My mom and I went to Cecil and I loved his idea. He drew his concept and I think the gown will be unique and fabulous. My mom and I also felt that he is sincere in helping us and even agreed to our “tawad”. I was sooooo relieved. He even reassured me that everything will be beautiful. Tawa pa kami ng tawa kasi sami nya na may magic wand daw sha so there is no reason for me to fret. I’m happy for my gown will be a-line and he modified the sleeves. It will off-shoulder instead of capped sleeves. I have to agree kasi pretty talaga nung binababa nya yung sleeves.

My first fitting will be on April 16. I’m keeping my hopes high. Di ba dapat lagi tayo positive? I’ll update you guys kung ano mangyayari. Nga pala, my mom decided to have her gown made there too. Ganda nung design ni Cecil.
