Last Entry for 2006

Published by nice under Bargains, My Thoughts, Office Tales

I’m going computer hiatus for the next couple of days. So i’m going to miss you blog.  :)
Today is also my last day in the office for this year. Pag pasok ko ulit 2007 na. Of course i’m so happy. 10 days na walang work and almost a week vacation in ilocos. What more can i ask for.

I was suppose to type this entry earlier but i was swamped with work. I have interviewed 3 people and finished the appraisal of one of our team members….recommended her regularization.  :)  I was glad to be able to accomplish all of these. The 3 applicants looks promising. I hope we can pick the person rightly fit for the job. Or else sasakit ulo ko next year. mwehehehe

I’m so happy. May money unexpectedly. Sale din kahapon sa GT Tower. Adidas watches are 50% off. I bought something for Morning. He’s not expecting na may nabili na ako, and orig na Adidas.  :)
O sha…bye bye na. B.boy’s waiting for dear mommy. See yah all next year.  :)

9 Months

Published by nice under Andre Miguel

B.boy turned 9 months last Friday.   :) We went to the pedia for his well-baby check up today. Here are his current stats:

Weight: 22 lbs

Height: 30 in

His pedia said that he’s doing fine and his stats are pretty much same as a one year old. Way to go B.boy! :)
He also had his measles shot. Pedia said that he might have low grade fever in the following days due to this. We’ll have to give 1ml of Tempra to remedy. His next visit will be when turns a year old. I hope he doesn’t get sick so that we will not go back any time soon.

Here are some of the milestones he has achieved:

(1) He’s experiencing some sort of separation anxiety. A few months back, we’ve trained him to a lot of people so he doesn’t protest when carried by family members, neighbors and his nanny. However, he doesn’t want strangers…those people he has seen for the first time or those he seldom sees. Take for example our recent pedia trip. Before he doesn’t protest being held by the the doctor or by her assistant. Now he does. He cried a lot while the assistant was getting his measurements.

(2) He can now sit well independently.

(3) Responds to his own name. Eto talaga yung nakakaaliw! Whenever i go home, sumisilip ako sa window then i call his name. Nakakatuwa kasi lilingon talaga sha and hahanapin kung nasaan si Mommy.  :)
(4) He now has 4 teeth. Another one is in the pipeline.

(5) Says dadadadada, lalalalalalala, ikcht  :p  He also says “ummma” when he is crancky and wants his mommy.

(6) Can sit down after standing

(7) He also performs bye-bye, counts 1-5 and will repeat the act if applauded.

(8) He also loves playing, so much that he forgets his bedtime. I let him play until 10 pm but after that i tell him that it is now time to sleep. Sometimes he protests and will continue playing. If that’s the case i usually switch off the lights and nurse him. Mga 5 minutes lang tulog na sha.  :)

Sneaking

Published by nice under Food and Restos, Office Tales

Hehehe. :) Bad bad bad!

:)  We went to Il Ponticello for lunch.

We’ve been to Ponti a couple of time already. Food and service is great. I’ve had grilled prawns, pasta with white sauce and mixed vegetables. My colleague Irene had Salmon, mash potatoes and mixed veggies. Wais kami.  :)
Thank goodness we did not talk about work that much. So concentrated talaga sa food.

Eh nagbibiruan, sabi ko “how much will you be borrowing if ever?”. Eto ang sagot…walang halong pagbibiro “around 10,000″. Ngeks! anong akala nya sa amin ATM machine? Sabi ko, “are you serious? I nearly fell off my seat when i heard the amount.” hahaha!

The BOSS is in Town

Published by nice under Office Tales

Yep, Vincent’s (my manager who’s based in HK) here again. I think being a remote manager poses a challenge…that you are not physically there to direct your team. This is the reason why he oten travels to Manila to check the team. I think this year he’s been here 5 times. For most of these trips he usually stays for a week. Also, modern technology helps. On the average he calls 4 times a day, sends IM messages every time he needs me and conducts conference calls once a week. Iba talaga sha. Even though he’s not here, monitored nya kami.

When he’s here he often treats me for lunch. Ok din kasi shempre libreng food, pero more often than not these are working lunches and we talk about projects or he sometimes discusses what needs to be improved in the team. He told me yesterday not to bring lunch because we’re going out. San kaya pwedeng kumain? Lol!  :)
So since he’ll be here until the end of the week, busy-busyhan muna ako. hahaha!  :) I might not be able to blog until the end of the week. That is kung busy talaga. I’ll miss you blog. Mwah!

Looking Forward

I love doing countdowns. Oftentimes my colleagues will hear me say, “uy 5 days na lang sweldo na”. Then the next day they’ll hear; “masaya ako kasi 4 days na lang sweldo na. Yehey!” I could go on and on. I love the feeling of looking forward to something good, don’t you?

This month we have a lot to hope for:

(1) Sis will be coming home from Denmark on Friday. Yipeee! We missed her terribly. My 2 sisters and I are really close, maybe because our parents taught us to love and treat each other as best of friends. As far as our parents are concerned, it is a mortal sin to quarrel with siblings. They will punish both parties regardless of who is right or wrong if we end up fighting. Those days, it will be about petty things like who is going to wash the dishes. If we fight over it both will taste dad’s leather belt. At that time I think it is pretty unfair for the innocent on to get punished but now I see the beauty of it.

Anyway, she’s been there since April. My younger sister and I miss her good sense of humor and kindness. I’ve never known a person as kind and as selfless as her. Yung tipong di baleng wala sha basta yung mga mahal nya meron. I consider that her strength of character which is seldom in this “me-first” laden world.

To celebrate her return, we’re cooking crispy pata. I’m sure she’ll love it kasi mahilig yun kumain. I’m also looking forward to my pasalubong. Ref magnets lang naman to add to my collection.   :)

(2) Every weekend until the end of this month, Citibank is giving away FREE 1.5 liter of Pepsi Max. You can avail one for every 500-peso purchase at Waltermart Makati. This made our weekend grocery shopping more fun. We usually take home 4 free bottles.  I’m so keen on weekends to do the groceries.

(3) We’re also looking forward to our trip to Ilocos. I bet my parents are doubly excited, as they haven’t seen B.boy in ages. My dad last saw him when he was still a month old and my mom when he was 5 months old. A lot has changed since then. He’s super entertaining. He waves bye-bye, counts with his fingers, will point to heaven if you ask him where’s Jehovah God. He also recently does this “pa-cute” na tawa, which is 100% imitation of M0rn1ng.

We’ll be staying there of almost a week and I’m so looking forward to be with my parents. We seldom see each other because Ilocos is really far and they have a business that they couldn’t leave. I miss mama and papa so much. Thanks to technology we can still keep in touch despite the distance.

I’m pretty sure that the boys will have a grand time there. Our place is near the beach and those boys love the water. Also, we’ll have a chance to evaluate if Ilocos could be part of our long-term plans. We have to decide on this before the new year starts. I’m soooo looking forward on what the outcome will be.   :)

Love at First Sight

Published by nice under Andre Miguel, Family, Kilig Moments

No, it wasn’t love at first sight when I met M0rn1ng 8 years ago. His name even slipped my memory. He is good looking and charming but at that time romantic relationships don’t interest me. We met a couple of times over the following years but nothing culminated. We were just plain “hi and hello”. After 4 years, we finally got the chance to get to know each other better. It all started with text messages followed by his visits to our boarding house then me agreeing to have a date. As I slowly got to know him, the feelings got deeper and deeper. Until 2 years ago, I was certain that life would be empty without him in it. Now that we’re married, I’m still discovering more and more reasons to love him. You see, it is LOVE that blossoms through the passage of time and I’m hooked for life.   :)

No, it wasn’t love at fist sight when our little one first said “hello” either. As the 2 lines in the pregnancy test kit becomes more visible, I felt ambivalent. The pregnancy was not planned so it took me by surprise. Don’t get me wrong, the little fellow was wanted but at that time my feelings for him was not that strong.  As months pass by, my affection for him grew. I can still recall how I cried with happiness when we first saw him through ultrasound. He was just pea size but very active. Then came his first kicks, as if trying to say “hello mommy”. By then, I am sure thay I love this little fellow for he occupies most of my waking thoughts. I couldn’t forget how ecstatic I am to hold him in my arms the day he was born. The affections got deeper and deeper as I take care and play with him everyday. You see, it is LOVE that blossoms through the passage of time and I’m hooked for life.  :)

Bananas in Pajamas

Published by nice under Andre Miguel, Family

113006_pajamas.JPG

Bananas in Pajamas are coming down the stairs

Bananas in Pajamas are coming down in pairs

Bananas in Pajamas are chasing teddy bears

Cause on Tuesday they all try to catch them unaware

Look at my 2 boys, don’t they look adorable in matching outfits?  :) They’re B1 and B2 from the children show Bananas in Pajamas. I remember that i use to watch this when it was aired by ABS-CBN. B1 and B2 are really michievously cute, just like my boys. lol!  :)

So what those that make me? Maybe one of the female bears, Amy and Lulu.  :) Those bananas are constantly teasing the bears, pretty much like our own scenario. But like the bears in that kiddie show, i know that it is all for fun.  :) Lambing lang kung baga.

They’re finally OUT!

Published by nice under Andre Miguel, Family

120206_mommys-treat_1.JPGWe are very happy to announce that B.boy’s 2 upper front teeth are now out. And as promised i made that congee with chicken bits. We bought some  chicken giniling and chicken breast at the supermarket. I boiled the chicken breast with onions, carrots and celery. The breast was used for our chop suey while the broth is for our little boy’s congee. I washed a little bit of rice and on the 3rd wash, the broth was added. The chicken giniling was added next. Continue stirring until the rice is soft. Put the mixture in the blender and puree until smooth consistency is achieved.

Our little boy loved it! The broth is very flavorful because of the added spices and vegetable. I made sure to add a little flavor as i don’t put salt or sugar in his food (I’ve read that it is not healthy for babies). Anyway, it makes my heart swell with happiness whenever he loves the food that I prepare.

M0rn1ng and I would want him to try different tastes and textures so each week, we think of new food that he hasn’t tried yet. Last week it was avocado, grapes, and chico. He loved the former and hate the latter. Maybe because chico’s texture is a bit rough and sandy. This week he has tasted chicken and ripe mangoes and loved them both. I will give him so fish later this week.

I think he is enjoying solids. His daddy has had fun time feeding him.  I am really happy for this because before, feeding has been between me and B.boy alone. Now, he has the chance to experience this bonding moment with his son as well. In fact M0rn1ng is better in feeding solids than me. When he’s doing it our little boy eats a lot and it’s not even messy. Pag ako…ang gulo-gulo and ang kalat.   ;)
