Looking Forward

I love doing countdowns. Oftentimes my colleagues will hear me say, “uy 5 days na lang sweldo na”. Then the next day they’ll hear; “masaya ako kasi 4 days na lang sweldo na. Yehey!” I could go on and on. I love the feeling of looking forward to something good, don’t you?

This month we have a lot to hope for:

(1) Sis will be coming home from Denmark on Friday. Yipeee! We missed her terribly. My 2 sisters and I are really close, maybe because our parents taught us to love and treat each other as best of friends. As far as our parents are concerned, it is a mortal sin to quarrel with siblings. They will punish both parties regardless of who is right or wrong if we end up fighting. Those days, it will be about petty things like who is going to wash the dishes. If we fight over it both will taste dad’s leather belt. At that time I think it is pretty unfair for the innocent on to get punished but now I see the beauty of it.

Anyway, she’s been there since April. My younger sister and I miss her good sense of humor and kindness. I’ve never known a person as kind and as selfless as her. Yung tipong di baleng wala sha basta yung mga mahal nya meron. I consider that her strength of character which is seldom in this “me-first” laden world.

To celebrate her return, we’re cooking crispy pata. I’m sure she’ll love it kasi mahilig yun kumain. I’m also looking forward to my pasalubong. Ref magnets lang naman to add to my collection.   :)

(2) Every weekend until the end of this month, Citibank is giving away FREE 1.5 liter of Pepsi Max. You can avail one for every 500-peso purchase at Waltermart Makati. This made our weekend grocery shopping more fun. We usually take home 4 free bottles.  I’m so keen on weekends to do the groceries.

(3) We’re also looking forward to our trip to Ilocos. I bet my parents are doubly excited, as they haven’t seen B.boy in ages. My dad last saw him when he was still a month old and my mom when he was 5 months old. A lot has changed since then. Madami na ngang gimik si B.boy eh. He’s super entertaining. He waves bye-bye, counts with his fingers, will point to heaven if you ask him where’s Jehovah God. He also recently does this “pa-cute” na tawa, which is 100% imitation of M0rn1ng.

We’ll be staying there of almost a week and I’m so looking forward to be with my parents. We seldom see each other because Ilocos is really far and they have a business that they couldn’t leave. I miss mama and papa so much. Thanks to technology we can still keep in touch despite the distance.

I’m pretty sure that the boys will have a grand time there. Our place is near the beach and those boys love the water. Also, we’ll have a chance to evaluate if Ilocos could be part of our long-term plans. We have to decide on this before the new year starts. I’m soooo looking forward on what the outcome will be.   :)
