Second Thoughts?

MIL and i were talking last week and the prospect of me going to US was brought up.  She told me to reconsider as she is willing to accompany us and take care of B.boy while i work.  She has a US visa so all she needs is a plane ticket.

The thought excites me as we also talked about places we can visit.  We can go to Branson Missouri, New Jersey where my uncle lives, and California where Vivz, Ely and Shiela are. The only problem is M0rn1ng’s shop.  I don’t think we can leave it for 2 weeks.  And I can’t leave without M0rn1ng.  Let’s see how it goes.

King One Hotpot

Mama is in town and my in-laws offered to treat her out last Friday.  We went to King One, a chinese shabu-shabu restaurant in Hobbies of Asia, Macapagal Ave.  There are not much people in the area when we arrived so there was ample parking space.  However when we entered the resto, we were surprised that all seats were already reserved.  We were told to wait for a little while and were seated after a few minutes.

My inlaws are surprised that it has a lot of patrons now.  They were there last April and they don’t have much diners at that time.  The resto has a bar on the middle where they prepare the shabu-shabu ingredients in the open.  These are then put in platters that goes round and round via a conveyor.  They offer Eat-all-you-can!!!  Drink-All-You-Can!!! for only 399+.   Quite a good deal as they have an extensive offering.  But we were in a hurry that evening so we opted to order ala-carte.

We had chop suey, lemon chicken, tenderloin in pepper sauce, fish fillet in white sauce, and pancit.  The food was good and we were filled to the brim.  Unlike most chinese joints, they don’t use much MSG.  I know because i usually get dizzy if i have more than enough.  But with King One, there was no dizziness after eating.

The best part is the price.  There were 7 of us and each ordered drinks but the total bill is only 1,200.  :)  We’ll definitely come back and try the shabu-shabu.  And oh, we also saw Mon Tulfo eating there.  :)

Fishy Fishy

pc250257.JPGI was looking at our old photos and stumbled upon this picture.  This was taken during M0rn1ng’s first Ilocos visit to meet my parents.  We’ve only been a couple for 2 months at that time so Morning was so nervous to meet my folks.

Contrary to what he expected my mom and dad welcomed him with open arms.  He had a lot of fun especially when we went fishing in the nearby river.  Papa has a fish pen full of Tilapias.  Armed with our fishing tackle,  we went to there to catch fishes and grill them onsite.  M0rn1ng caught a lot!  I know he had fun because he spent the whole day fishing.  He even got sunburned.  hahaha!

We ate our catch at the river during lunch time.  We grilled the Tilapias and paired it with tomatoes, bagoong (fish sauce) and onion leaves.  Yummy!

After some months, we lost the fish pen.  Somebody cut the nets open and all the fishes got out.  We lost some money because of that and my dad got discouraged so much that he did not bother to repair the fish pen anymore.  :(   I wish he would change his mind as i would love B.boy to try fishing too.
