Papa has considered to incorporate our small business a few years back.  We are suprised why it did not pushed through as it has a lot of benefits.  One of them is protection of personal properties in case the business suffers a downfall since a corporation exists as a separate entity from the owner.  I guess he knows all the benefits but just too lazy to process all the requirements of incorporation.  He often reasons out that nothing bad could possibly happen.  But who knows for sure?

According to about.com, in the US, there are 7 steps to follow to start a Corporation:

1. Choose a Name and address
2. Select a state where to incorporate
3. Choose a corporation type
4. Determine company directors
5. Choose share type
6. Obtain Certificate of Incorporation
7. Process and File Incorporation

Pretty long and tedious process for me, so there are companies that help in this regard.  They offer online filing service to start corporation in all 50 states.  Their website has a dedicated section for frequently asked questions.  You’ll see the differences of every corporation types (LLC, Corporation, S-Corp).  So if you want to setup a Texas LLC, it is pretty simple.  I wish the same service is also being offered here.  It will  be a great help to small businesses.

I’m back in the daily grind.  I’m not complaining as i enjoyed my leave yesterday.  We were able to join the field service, study for the CBS, and cook meals for the family.  Yah, you read it right.  Cooking’s my favorite household chore and it’ just sad that i wasn’t able to do that regularly.  I whipped tinola with malunggay and papaya for lunch and for dinner fried galungong and sotanghon with puso ng saging.  It warms my heart to see hubby enjoy his food and he further told me that maybe i should just stay home and cook meals everyday.  hahaha!  It feels good to be appreciated.

Well, back to work again.  I have a lot of backlogs and i just got off from a conference call which i nearly missed because i was out yesterday.  I didn’t know i should call someone from the US today.  huhuhu.  Maybe they should give a blackberry so i can be up to date even if i’m not in the office.  On the other hand, it might be a bad idea too.  You wouldn’t want to be looking at office work during vacations right?
