Good Breakfast Place in Tagaytay

Published by nice under Food and Restos, Travel

We were in Tagaytay last week and had our breakfast at Mervin Canteen. If you are looking for the best tapsi in town then this is the place. The servings are big and at 60 bucks per plate you have a sure winner. We also had crunchy tawilis and pansit bihon. It was all very yummy. They also serve free bulalo soup with it.

The canteen is along the highway on the right side after you pass mushroom burger. It’s just a small place nothing fancy but the food is great. You really get your money’s worth.  :)

Mechanic

Published by nice under Blogging Benefits

We have a family friend who never went to college but earning more than the average corporate slave. It’s his enterprising skills coupled with hard work and patience. He’s a good mechanic too. He buys almost junk cars at a very low cost and transforms them to a shining piece of vehicle that he sells for big bucks. He started out just by having a workshop in their garage now he has a lot of outlets already.

His secret is just spotting the right car to buy and putting all his effort to make it better and sellable. He also had a lot of contacts that sell him with auto parts and body shop supplies at a very good price.

His story is inspiring, isn’t it? It just goes out and shows that we can overcome poverty even if we don’t have enough secular education.

The Place to be in Vegas

Published by nice under Blogging Benefits

caesars_logo.gifLooking for a nice hotel to stay in Vegas? Then Caesars Palace is the place to be. They have regal guest rooms. I just love those high ceilings and large bathtubs. There’s also Celine Dion and Elton John to do the entertaining. They have a big Colosseum Theatre that will leave you marveled. They also have a large array of cuisines to offer at their very own restaurants. Now isn’t that great?

Our August 27 Holiday

Published by nice under Andre Miguel, Family, M0rn1ng, Travel

We woke up bit late and M0rn1ng prepared a very nice pizza for breakfast. The weather is just conducive for sleeping so we just cuddled in the bed the whole morning. B.boy and I are just playing and tickling him occasionally to elicit laughter.

We had leftovers for lunch and lolo came to visit B.boy. We drove him to Glorietta for his seminar and B.boy dozed off on our way home. The streets are empty and it was just around 15 minutes drive back and forth.

We went back to Glorietta after the little boy woke up. We headed straight to Cuts for Tots to have his haircut. He just cried a little when the barber was about to finish, maybe because he can feel the razor vibrating and scraping his scalp. We tried to divert his attention by blowing bubbles and letting him play with toys. It was his second hair cut and he is now sporting a shaolin look. Hahaha.  Look at the before and after pics below.

After that, we spotted Kids at Work at the 3rd level. B.boy eyes grew big as he saw their playground. There are a lot of kids inside but the place is really big so it wasn’t really that crowded. Our little boy wanted to get in as soon as he saw the place. But we weren’t ready because we did not bring along any socks. So we went to Landmark to buy.

We all had a great time at Kids at Work. B.boy loves the balls. He is throwing them everywhere. He also had a blast running around and trying out the slide. The place is child proofed so you won’t be afraid if they slip or bump into something. It’s a great place to enhance his motor skills while having fun. Just look at the photos below.

Online Shopping for Gifts

Published by nice under Blogging Benefits

September is just around the corner and I’m beginning to feel the excitement. This means that I’m months away from getting my 13th month pay. That’s extra money that I usually share with loved ones by buying them gifts. I’m thinking of buying M0rn1ng some gadgets from DELL.  I’m also thinking of buying clothes for B.boy at Old Navy. I’m sure they will be happy to receive these gifts.   :)

But wait, you might think that these will cost a lot. Well, not really if you have online coupons. These coupons will give discounts to aid us with the expenses. This is a great help so that we can give gifts that they love but easy on the pocket.

The Old Spaghetti House

Published by nice under Food and Restos

image015.jpgWe tried TOSH at Waltermart Makati last Saturday.  We did our weekly grocery and since we haven’t had a ready lunch at home we decided to eat out.  We weren’t disappointed because the food was yummy.  We ordered Seafood Marinara, Buffalo Wings and tropical fruit juice.  I loved everything except for the juice.  The only complaint that we have is the serving size.  It is quite small to our liking.  We’re big eaters kasi.

Next time we’ll try their pasta meals because it looks more filling.

Looking for a bed

Published by nice under Blogging Benefits

double-deck.jpg

We are sharing the house with my 2 sisters. Their room is not that big so it is really necessary that they have a double deck bed. What they currently have is a single bed but they could barely fit in so we are looking for a new one. We are checking out different home furniture stores but we haven’t found the ideal one. The one we like is somewhat like what you can see in the picture.

Since my other sister left for Denmark a few weeks ago, we postponed buying one. But we will definitely buy once she comes back. We also need a new ceiling fan to ventilate the one sleeping on the upper bunk.

I hope we will be able to find something similar because it looks sturdy.  They will be able to use it for a very long time.

Beautiful Monday

Published by nice under My Thoughts

I just woke up and B.boy is still in bed sleeping.  There is no need to rush because it’s a holiday and there’s no need for me to go to work.  M0rn1ng is preparing a homemade pizza for breakfast downstairs.  I just love moments like these.  :)  I woke up rejuvinated and i have some quiet time before the little boy wakes up.

We don’t have plans for the day.  Maybe we will go somewhere but it’s not yet definite.  Let’s just see what happens next.

We received the news last night.  My sister in law passed the nursing board exam.  :)  Congrats Shang!  We are very proud of you.  So where will you treat us?  Our sched is very open today.  hahaha!  (kidding!)

Well, i just have a feeling that this will be a wonderful day.  I hope i don”t get to work on Mondays forever.   hahaha.  (as if that’s possible right now).  Happy Monday everyone.  :)

Career in Market Research

I took up BS Statistics in college and after graduating I thought of applying it by entering the market research field. I think that is pretty interesting because you get to discover a lot of information like what people like and their needs. Most product companies hire market researchers to align their products to the consumers. It gives back valuable feedback and insights so that they can capture the market’s interests.

Too bad things did not go as planned. Instead of a career in market research I am in the financial industry. But this is really something I want to pursue given a chance.

National Pardon

Published by nice under News

I was watching a morning news show a couple of days before at GMA 7 where they differentiated amnesty and pardon. I was glad it was discussed because I often hear those terms but never ever know what it really meant in legal term. The resident lawyer said that while pardon forgives the criminal offense, amnesty is better as it forgives and forgets. This means that once an amnesty is given it not only forgives the offense it also wipes out any record of it.

I did some reading and there are some countries like ours that provides pardons. The constitution pardons Canada citizens. They even have non-profit organizations that help with the granting of Canadian pardon. Not only that they also assist in application of US waiver entry.

Pardon when granted will remove criminal records and it will allow the person to live a life without the restrictions associated to having one. The US Entry waiver that is granted by the US government allows legal access to the US despite the existence of a criminal record.

This is good of everyone who did wrong but has taken steps to correct it. But it is sometimes difficult to live a new life because of all the stigmas and barriers associated with a criminal record. Some could not find a decent job. However, it is fair that they be given another chance. So it is good that there are professionals who are willing to offer help on this regard. It all starts infree counseling. They will give and honest and reliable advice on what to do and what applications are really needed.

I’m not sure if we have the same programs here in our country but it would be definitely be helpful if we have. It will help people who are rehabilitating get on with their lives without the usual trauma and stigma brought about by a criminal record.

Buying a new Home?

Published by nice under Blogging Benefits

It is easier to buy a home in the US. Our friend who migrated there 2 years ago now has money to purchase their own nest. The opposite is true here in the Philippines. Even if you work hard for so many years, you still won’t have adequate money to buy your own home.

Anyway, she is in a lookout for Orlando real estate. I told her to look at homekeys.net. They have a powerful searching tool that will help identify a good property to buy. I hope she finds her perfect home soon.
