Web Host

I am blogging for almost 3 years now. At first I made use of blogger then shifted to WordPress free blogs. Although I’m happy with it there are advantages of having your own host and domain. For one, WordPress doesn’t allow monetizing your blog and that is one great disadvantage for bloggers who want to do just that. WordPress shuts off blogs who are into advertising and paid blogging. So when I decided to make money from blogging, I bought a domain and web host. Second with your hosted site, you can install anything and you can customize it the way you like it.

So how do you go about it? It is essential to research so that you can find a reliable web host. For me, the requirements are:

  1. Should be Budget friendly
  2. Has minimal down time.
  3. Could be accessed readily.
  4. Gives a considerable amount of space.
  5. Good technical support.

If you are a newbie to all of these, visit this great website which offers a good information on web hosting (just click the link on web hosting). It has all the information you need to arm you with the right knowledge. There are articles on different types of web hosting: budget, business, dedicated, Ecommerce, PHP, Reseller, Unix and Windows. It also has a wealth of information on Domain Names. The articles I found truly useful are: Important Budget hosting considerations and Consequences of Budget Hosting. The things I’ve read are very useful and educated me on finding a good and reliable web host.

Once you’ve armed yourself with valuable information you can canvass and choose a web host that would suit your needs. The site also provides a searching function. You can search per price, storage space, platform and rating. This is a great aid in finding the best web host.

Now I have my own site and I’m glad to say that it is generating additional income too.

Childhood Fears

B.boy is quite a fearful child. When he was still an infant he’s afraid of loud noises. If startled by it he will wake up crying. That’s the reason why we carry him all the time when he is sleeping. He sleeps more soundly and distracted that way.

Around 9 months he became fearful of strangers. He doesn’t want to be carried by anyone he doesn’t know. He’s very clingy to me too. If he saw me leaving the room he will surely cry.

Thankfully, he has overcome those fears now. But that doesn’t mean that he does fear anything anymore. Last night, we discovered that he’s afraid of his own shadow that he sees at our bedroom wall. Good thing that he is not afraid of the dark though. We try to help him overcome his fears by telling him that shadows are our mere reflections and they are completely harmless. We even tried to wave our hands and see the shadow it produces. Then when he’s a little bit secured we tried and waved his hands so that he can see that the thing moving in the wall is just his own hand. I think it helped to lessen his fears.

Lately, he’s also afraid of doctors and nurses. He screams and cries at the top of his lungs whenever we go for check-ups. He will start crying as soon as he sees the doctor’s clinic. The doctor’s assistant is having a hard time getting his weight and height. Last time he didn’t even noticed that the vaccine was already administered because he is crying profusely. And boy he can cry so hard! M0rn1ng and I still don’t know how to ease his fear of seeing his pedia. The doctor is a very kind old woman that B.boy calls “lola” so we don’t think she’s the one scaring him. I think it’s the procedure that they do…like putting him in the weighing scale and poking some apparatus on his body. We’re thinking of reading him a story that highlights kids facing their fears on checkups. Do you know any good book or story?

I hope in time he will overcome all of these fears too.   :)
