He Loves Peek-a-boo

Published by nice under Andre Miguel, Mommy Talks, My Thoughts

This photo was taken a few nights ago when we were playing peek-a-boo. I put some blankets and towels on the headboard and we stayed on the opposite sides of the bed. He would open the cloths that serves as curtain between us and I will act surprised. It elicits loads of laughter from him. We can’t resist taking a picture so here he is in his playful mode.

Looking for a TV

Published by nice under Blogging Benefits, Gadgets, Internet

A friend is looking to buy a Polaroid HDTV. She is asking me for recommendations but I couldn’t give any, as I’m clueless as she is when it comes to gadgets as she is. Add to that is her busy schedule that she find it time consuming to visit shops and compare the things she want to buy.

Then I remember Krillion.com. She can do her online research of the TV she wants to buy there. It has comprehensive product, pricing and location information that will help her find the exact TV that she wants and where she will be able buy that. I’ll let her know about this.

Good Morning

Published by nice under My Thoughts, News

Good Morning to everyone! We we’re all shaken by what happened yesterday. We we’re just a few blocks away from the Manila Pen and good thing our company decided to let everybody go home earlier. I wonder how will this affect the stock market and our mutual fund investment? For sure bagsak na naman.

We will join the field service this morning as it is holiday in this part of the world. We also plan to bring B.boy to the pedia dentist in the afternoon. I hope it will go well. I’ll update you all later.

Uncle’s Got a New Home

Published by nice under Blogging Benefits, Products

My uncle living in New York will be transferring to their new home in New Jersey. I’m very excited for them because finally, they bought the house of their dreams. They are looking for a New York Moving Company to help them out. Moving is really now joke as you have to pack and unpack a lot of things.

I hope their move will be a smooth one. We are looking forward to see the pictures of their new abode.

Thanking my Family

Published by nice under Blogging Benefits, Family, shopping

We already got our 13th month pay and I’m so happy. I have some money to shop for love ones and family. I’ve never touched my blog earnings too so I thought I might get something for my dad and mom to share the blessings I’ve received this year.

I would like to get this watch from Swiss. It is on 50% off. My dad would surely love to wear something like this.

For mom, this handbag from smart bargains would be great. It’s also at 56% off. I’m sure she would love this.

Yes, you read it right. They have a kiosk at Ground Floor, Main Hall of Mall of Asia. According to one of their staff, they have just opened last Friday. Here are some pictures we took.

Here’s the corner where you can enjoy your doughnuts and coffee.

Addiction

Published by nice under Blogging Benefits, Health

I was reading an article about prescription drug addiction earlier and it struck me that it could start by following a doctor’s order until it becomes abuse without the person knowing it. Doctors often prescribe opiates for pain management. However, a person may still be inclined to take it even thought it is no longer needed. Opiates are addictive because of its composition. It activates the “pleasure” centers of the brain thereby reducing the “pain” centers.

There could be withdrawal symptoms like nausea, anxiety, diarrhea, insomnia and many more once the person stops using it. Since this is a disease, it should be treated accordingly.

I’ve read that this could be treated through suboxone detox. It is approved by the US Food and drug Administration for treating opiate addiction to outpatients. suboxone detox is available in an outpatient setting without a daily trip to a clinic or a dose dispensing facility. A convenient prescription for the drug is provided for the patient to take at home. However, this couldn’t be dispensed by just any doctor. He or she should be certified specifically in the drug’s restrictions and dispensations.

This is good as those who had been addicted to opiates have a good chance to recover plus the treatment is convenient too.

Superchild Syndrome

My parents have trained us to be achievers especially in academics. Papa always tells us stories on how he was a valedictorian from elementary until he graduated high school. I guess it was always expected that me and my siblings should be at least on Top Three of the class. So we learned to study hard to please our parents. We try to stay on top of our class and join quiz bees and math Olympiads. The medals and trophies we bring home bring so much joy and pride to our parents. They even made a cabinet to display all our awards.

I understand them because we grew up achieving more and it built our self confidence. But sometimes it is really stressful competing with others just to gain parents’ approval. Looking back, I never got to enjoy my childhood and teen years fully because I was always stuck at home studying. Besides, success as a person is never measured based on academic performance.

So I hope I won’t do the same to my son. I’ll let him relax and learn on his own pace. I won’t force him to go to school at an early age if he isn’t ready yet. Of course we must nurture their gifts but not to the point that it’s causing them too much stress already.

Just my thoughts.
