Place for Everything

Since we had a Garage Sale last month, we rid of most of the clutter we have at home. We also segregated the useful stuff that we still need but the problem is that we don’t have any place to store them. Good thing I saw some garage cabinets. We need those to have a place for everything and everything is in its place.

Aging Gracefully

I was tagged by Ann to do this.  Thank you so much!  :)

1. If you could pause your aging process, at what age would you choose do to it? (Meaning you would not live forever, but live for 90 or so years at whatever age you chose).
I want to be forever young. :)

2. At what age did you (or will you) consider yourself to be an adult? At age 20. I matured at a younger age because I was the eldest in the family and family values dictates that I become responsible and be a good model to my sisters. I also left home at 16 so I’ve learned to live on my own responsibly.

3. What do you think will be your most annoying trait when you’re a senior?I think I will be very repetitive. Hahaha! Yung tipong nakwento na or nasabi tapos sasabihin pa ulit.

4. How does your current life compare with where you thought you’d be at this point when you were young?
I never thought I would be married. Kala ko kasi tatandang dalaga ako and I don’t mind as long as I’d have enough money to travel and visit nice places. I also thought that I could devote my life to full time volunteer work. But Jehovah God granted me with a very loving husband and an adorable son. Having a family of my own is not something I saw back then but God knew my needs better.

5. When would you like to retire? What do you see yourself doing with your life after retirement?Be a good grandma. I also want to have a larger share in preaching the good news of the Kingdom so I pray for strength and good health when I age.

Snatchers

Have you ever experienced snatching? I did when I was still in college. I was waiting for a public transport at 3pm at the Katipunan area. I was going home from school when two teenager grabbed one of my gold chains and ran away. I was able to hold on the shirt of one of those guys and chased them until near Sta. Clara church. And while I’m at it I was screaming for help. They were too fast for me and I lost them. One of the street sweeper told me to just wait nearby as some guy ran after the snatchers. A few minutes later a big guy was holding one of the bad guys. He is a military man and he saw me screaming and chasing the snatchers so he alighted his vehicle and pursued them.

I got my jewelry back and I have to thank the kind man for helping me. Others in the street wouldn’t budge. Looking back I don’t know what got into me that I chase after those bad guys, maybe because that necklace is very dear to me and was given as a gift by my dad on my elementary graduation. My parents told me that next time let it go without a fight as we don’t know if those bad guys have guns or knife. It’s better to let go of the material things if it will cost you your life.

I also learned my lesson not to wear jewelry on the daily commute. How about you? Do you have such experience too?

Good Breakfast

We don’t B.boy with food with preservatives like tocino, longaniza and hotdogs. So his breakfast is limited to the following:

Eggs
Taho with no syrup and sago
Oatmeal
Chicken Sopas
Misua with Patola
Daing na Bangus
Chicken or Egg Lugaw
Champorado
Pancakes

These are the things we have in his menu and we rotate it every week. I’m not sure if he gets tired of eating this in the morning. On some days he doesn’t want to eat at all. Perhaps he is still full from breast milk as he usually nurses when he wakes up. Such was the case yesterday. So after bathing him, I chopped some apples into bite size pieces and put it in his plate. I also included some seedless grapes. He had it while watching Elmo. I was glad he loved fruits and takes it as snack. He even finished half of the apple. :)
