Good Old Days

This is what we did to the veggies that my mom sent.

We turned it to a mouth watering pakbet. Pakbet in our hometown is not guisado. We just chop all the veggies, add some meat and bagoong in the pot. My lolo when he was still alive makes the best pakbet in town. Sometimes he makes it on his clay pot. Grabe ansarap!

She also sent these talangka. They were really yummy kasi andaming aligue.

I remember selling these when I was about 4-5 years old. My lolo and I will catch them in the nearby river and he will ask me to go door to door to our neighbors to sell it. Then we put all the money I earned inside the piggy bank. That way I have lots of money to bring home after the summer vacation is over.

Oh good old days! :)

Selling Online

There are a lot of people who are into selling online. They use their Multiply account to display their goods and to place orders. You can pay them through their designated bank account and the product will be shipped to you. That is good for small scale business but to earn more it’s better to get your own domain and hosting and have a shopping cart software.

The beauty of having an ecommerce software is it’s integrated with all the major banks, gateways and third party processors like Paypal. So there’s no need for buyers to deposit money from a designated account. These shopping carts are also search engine optimized. This means that you get to reach the top of search engine results. It is also securely hosted and gives full fraud alerts.

It is also easy to administer. Even a novice user can get it up and running. If you are interested for a test drive visit ashopcommerce.com

Treasuring the Friendships made Online

I saw this message from Yen’s and Juliana’s blogs.

friend.jpg

Making friends is the most rewarding part of blogging and it’s flattering to know that somebody treasures you as a friend. Thank you so much Yen and Juliana for considering me as one of your online gal pals. I heart you girls.  :)

I want to hand down this same message to

Amore – You don’t know how your friendship means to me. I always thank Jehovah God for letting our paths cross. You are one blessing from him that I am truly grateful for. I hope we can meet personally one of these days.

Mhay – She is one sweet person that I had the chance to know online.

Peachy – Our sons are almost the same age and I always have fun chatting with her in YM. We talk mostly on our sons antics and developments.

Toni – I always talk to her through YM too. I have known her since our wedding planning days and we have the same designer.

Abie – Our friendship started during wedding planning days. She helped me with my gown dilemma and we’ve been visiting each other blogs to keep updated.

Wedding Website

A friend is planning her wedding next year and she is very excited. I’ve given her my wedding folder which contains suppliers that she could choose from. I got a lot of flyers from the wedding fairs that I’ve attended and we’ve compiled them in one big folder. I’ve also given her links to useful Wedding Websites.

One of them those is WeddingChannel.com. It is one of web’s most comprehensive wedding planning sites. It has free interactive planning tools like Planning Checklist, Budget Calculator and Guest List Manager. It also offers expert planning advice so you can get reliable answers to common planning questions.

I hope these can be of help to her.

Blogging Stuff

I was tagged by JennyL to answer these set of questions:

1. How long have you been blogging?
I started blogging September 20, 2004. My first blog was nicemorning.blogspot.com. However, I deleted it when I transferred everything to Wordpress. So I’m blogging for more than three years now.

2. What inspired you to start a blog and who are your mentors?
I joined weddings@work egroup when I was planning our wedding. I noticed that almost every bride has a blog to document their wedding preparations. I thought it was cool to write my progress online and share it with fellow brides. So I started my very first blog. I don’t have any mentors as starting and keeping one is easy. I made a lot of brides along the way and that made the wedding preparations more fun.

After the wedding I decided to keep the blog to document our married life. So this blog has a lot of history. I love reading and reminiscing about the past happenings in our lives.

3. Are you trying to make money online, or just doing it for fun.
At first it was just for Fun. However, my friend Amore introduced me to the world of paid blogging. She helped me to get started and I got to know another fun side of blogging. I just started July of this year.

4. Tell me 3 things you LOVE about being online.
- I gained a lot of friends along the way. I am particularly thankful that I met a friend and sister in Amore. It was God’s way of giving me a good friend to talk to and share experiences with despite the busy schedule that I am running.
- I learned a lot of new things.
- It lets me earn extra money.

5. Tell me 3 things you STRUGGLE within the online world.
- PR. Need I say more?
- Like JennyL, balancing online and offline work. I need to set limits and goals so that none of my roles would suffer.
- Making my posts interesting so that readers would find value on what I write. Minsan nakakadrain din ng utak mag-isip.

I’m tagging the following people:  Mich, Ann, Alpha, Peachy, Mhay, Joy and Kelly:)

Dream Car

accord.jpgM0rn1ng is a fan of Honda Cars. This is no surprise because he loved their Civic family car. Yesterday we were walking to our bible study appointment and he pointed out a car parked in the street. He told me that a car like that is something that he wants to own. And yes it’s a Honda Accord.

I found a very nice website that displays Honda Car Quotes and Honda Car Prices. CarsBlvd.com is a car comparison site that lets buyers compare prices on vehicles. You get up to 2 quotes fast and easy. By letting dealers compete for your business you can compare quotes below wholesale prices.

I broke our bed

Yes you read it right. Wondering how I accidentally did it? Well, B.boy and I are always playing every night. Last week, we had so much fun jumping in the bed. I thought matibay yung bed namin pero hindi pala. One of the side frame got bent.

I didn’t notice it that night but M0rn1ng told me the day after. I checked the bed and mukha shang babagsak na. I felt so guilty and I could still remember my childhood days when my mom would scold me for jumping in the bed. Hindi na talaga ako natuto and worse I’m teaching my son a bad habit.

But jumping up and down the bed is so much fun. I just didn’t realize that our bed is not that sturdy. Nga pala, that bed was my mom’s wedding gift to us. She will freak out once she knows the real story why it got broken. :(
