We Are Family

We just had our annual physical examination at the office a few months ago. I usually take time to complete this because it is a great way to gauge how healthy I am at the moment. I am specially concerned on my xrays results because I have weak lungs ever since and the pollution in the city makes it worse.

I was chatting with the x-ray technician and i was surprised to know that they are also in demand abroad. He said that he specifically took x ray technician course so that he can find a job overseas.

He also adds that life is very difficult in our country and he will get a lot of pay as xray technician either in the US or Canada. Makes me really think how worse the situtation here in the Philippines right now. I’m still thankful that M0rn1ng and I got jobs that can still support our family. But I’m not sure if that will still be the case if we get another child.

At long last, we were able to finish our passport application and renewal last Friday. I took a leave for a whole day Thursday and we were there at DFA at arpund 6am. There were already long winding lines outside and we were informed that ours won’t be processed that day. We have to queue just to get an appointment.

Good thing that the line was pretty quick. We were able to get an appointment for the next day at round 7:30am. I still have enough time to go to work. So I cancelled my leave and file it on the next day instead. My boss was okay with it as Hong Kong, China and Taiwan offices are on holiday.

We went back at 9am the next day and processing was fairly quick. You just have to bring all the complete requirements and have it photocopied. The only part that took so long to complete was payment in the cashier, encoding of the data and thumbmark infront of the DFA officers.

I suggest that you download the form from the internet and fill it up before going there. The pictures should also match their requirements. I’ve seen a lot of folks asked to retake their pictures again because it did not pass the requirements.

We’ll be getting our passports on the 25th. Now I can finally feel the excitement on our Singapore trip.
