Happy 6 Years!

I know it’s late. :( But better late than never. :)

We celebrated our 6 years of togetherness (counting from the day that we became a couple) last Thursday. It was fun and memorable eventhough we don’t have much budget for a grand celebration. My youngest sister cooked a sumptuous dinner of kare-kare complete with this very mouth watering dessert.

We all had our fill that night. Not to be missed are the gifts. :) Morn1ng gave me these to keep me busy every morning.

I really need to exercise for my health’s sake. Exercise to combat stress is no my new battle cry! hahahaha!

My other sister gave us this, which is very cute.

I have to frame it and hang in our bedroom wall. Kuhang kuha nya yung smile ni B.boy. Galing talaga!

Overall, it was a fun day to reminisce how far morning and I have gone. There are bumps along the way but with God’s help we were able to ride through them together. I hope love’s flame will keep on burning as the years go by. Here’s looking forward to more years of togetherness. :) I love you Daddy!

He’s Weaned. Finally!

Yes, he’s not nursing from me anymore…not even at night. He’s just content to hug me until he drifts off to dreamland. The last time that he asked for “dede” is around three weeks ago so I think it is now safe to say that he has finally given up nursing altogether. I can feel that my body is adjusting to this as I’m slowly gaining weight and my breast has significantly reduced its size. Bad news huh?!

Now, what I’m waiting is for my period to return. Sometimes I can feel symptoms of PMS. Good thing I don’t get any acne yet. Before, I used to get big zits days prior to my period.

Now, if you ask me if I miss our breastfeeding relationship, I’d probably say yes. But there are things that you can’t hold on forever. I’m just glad that I was able to nurse him for more that 2 years and that alone is a big accomplishment on my part. :)

Me Likey!

Having a great chandelier really brings out the WOW factor in any room. I realized that when we got the chance to visit Koi Café in Malagos, Davao. This quaint resto is made even charming by the beautiful shell chandeliers that hang in its high ceiling. It looks doubly beautiful at night.

Now I wish we could have one in our living room. I have this notion before that these cost much but I was mistaken. There is an ongoing sale at lighting showplace. This one caught my fancy.

It looks very elegant and has a homey feel to it. I wonder if something like this can grace our living room one of these days.

Davao Food Trip: Koi Cafe

It’s been a while since we came back but I never got the time to write about our recent adventure. hehehe. Things have been a little busy here. Anyway, the first thing that I’m going to tell you guys is this wonderful cafe at Malagos Garden Resort. It is called the Koi Cafe simply because it is surrounded by fish tanks sooooo full of kois. I think what makes is really charming at night are it’s white drapes that hang from the ceiling to the floor, the shells chandeliers and the banig ceiling. It all contributes to the charming and homey feeling especially at night.

The food was great as it offers the freshest ingredients from their nearby puntespina farm. The most exotic one that we’ve tried is their ostrich meat. It is cooked ala salpicao and comes with mash potatoes and fresh garden salad. They have an ostrich farm so they get all their meat there. We were suprised that it is red meat and it tastes more like beef than chicken.

dsc06227.jpg

It is best paried with this Bignay wine, which is made from the red berries they have around here. We all loved the wine…perfect blend of sweetness. We almost finished the whole bottle that night.

dsc06229.jpg

We also ordered kinilaw na malasigue (blue marlin), fried chicken and chop suey.

It was a great night and we enjoyed our food. I would go back there because ou can taste the freshness in the food. You can tell that it was freshly picked. The ostrich was such a revelation. The meat was tender and juicy….i think it is even better than beef itself.

Anniversary Gift

Our anniversary as bf-gf is just a few days away. I told M0rn1ng the gift that I wanted to receive. I told him that I’ll let him know what I want so that he won’t have difficult time figuring it out. (hahaha! That’s what you call convenience and practicality)

I told him that I would love to receive an exercise instructional video. I really think that I need to do some exercise. I don’t have time to go to the gym so it would be best if I could do it at home. I need to be healthy not to mention that I think I’m slowly gaining weight. Gone are the days that I can pig out without gaining a pound. It’s sad the sad reality….I’m getting old.

I don’t want it to get to the point where I would be needing the best diet pills just to trim down. I won’t get too fat if I do something about it now. This is not just for aesthetic but more for health reasons. We are prone to heart disease and high blood pressure. Besides, I would want to boost my immune system too. As they say, health is wealth.

Now, I look forward as to what video the husband will be getting the wife. Hahaha!

Reasonably Priced Glasses

My friend recently complains about headaches and blurred vision. We advised her to visit her eye doctor and get new prescription glasses. Her eye grade may have changed. She visited her optometrist yesterday and confirmed that she needs to replace her eyeglasses. The problem is the cost. Her employment benefits do not include eye care or her health care do.

Good thing I chanced upon a nationally syndicated consumer advocate program called The Clark Howard Show. They recommended ZenniOptical for good quality but very affordable prescription eyewear. One can buy online and it only costs $8. That’s good news right? There also positive reviews about them on Fox news, TV and in the radio,

Now I just wonder how come that they sell their glasses cheaper than anybody else? I found out that they are a direct seller. They don’t have middlemen nor advertise on TV and broadsheet. This cuts down unnecessary cost but not the quality of their stuff.

I would let my friend know about this so that she can have her much needed replacement soon. It’s so hard to work if you don’t have the correct eyeglasses. I’m pretty sure she will thank me for this. :)
