It’s So Nice To be Home

Yes, we’re already in Ilocos. I had a jam packed day yesterday as I still went to work. I came in at 7am so that I can leave a 4. It also happened that I have a lot of scheduled meetings in the afternoon starting at 1:30 so I was so harassed when I left. Good thing my boss was understanding of my situation.

Traffic going to airport was pretty heavy so we’re praying real hard that we won’t miss the flight. We reached terminal 3 at around 5pm. The flight was at 6 and since there wasn’t much people queuing at the check-in area, we finished in no time. We still have ample time to grab some snacks.

The plane that we rode was a small one. It was one of the three ATR-700 that Cebu Pacific has. It’s my first time to ride such a small plane. It’s cool because it is really shaky when there’s turbulence. Hahaha! We arrived around 7:45, mama and papa were already waiting for us outside the airport. They were very happy to see B.boy.

We had dinner at Shakey’s. There’s a new shopping plaza in San Nicolas. We’re thrilled to see our province getting more and more urbanized. We’ll share some photos later.

We got home at around 10:30 and B.boy had a grand time at the house. It has a lot of space for him to roam around. He also had a gift waiting for him to open. Mama and Papa wrapped it beautifully. He eagerly opened it and found some jammies and activity books which he answered right away.

We’re so happy to be home. :)

Buys

We’ve spent our last two weekends at the mall. We don’t usually go there unless we really need to buy something. Since we are looking for clothes to wear on our 3-day convention, we hit the mall. I was surprised how expensive everything was. Being the frugal and prudent person that I am, I spent hours just looking and going around. All of the clothes that I wanted are above my set budget. Hahaha! This is the reason why I should always watch out for sales.

Good thing that 15th happened to fall on a weekend and we were able to catch some sale at Glorietta. I was able to buy 3 polo shirts and pants for our little boy. I was tempted to drop buy on one of those discount furniture stores as they are also having a big sale. But I restrained myself because I wasn’t really planning to buy any furniture. We just recently bought our sofa bed and that is that last furniture purchase we are going to make for this year.

Our Weekend

I’m supposed to share our weekend pictures a few days back I never really got the time to write it down. I wanted to post it here because it was a productive one. I hit my target to finish preparing for out upcoming District Convention. B.boy has his three sets of outfit, M0rn1ng bought one set complete with tie and belt. I got 2 dressed for my budget. The first one was bought from a bazaar. I got it for only 200 bucks yet it is of good quality. The other one was from plains and prints. It was quite expensive but since I can also wear that in the office, I consider it as a reasonable buy. I’ll post pictures of these later.

Sunday night after our Bible Study appointments, we went to MOA. We had dinner at Pollo Loco. Chicken was quite okay but M0rn1ng and I agreed that the Spanish rice is sumptuous. The meal is pretty okay considering its price. M0rn1ng and I agreed that we have to be prudent in our spending so we cut down on eating at expensive restos.

After our meal, father and son bonded together while I look around for the dress that I want to buy. We met after an hour and we got coffee from Starbucks. I got a GC from my insurance agent. Here’s our little one enjoying his drink.

Lolo and Lola fetched us at around 9:30 and we feasted on Lola’s chicharon inside the car. :) I can’t wait for this weekend to come. We’ll be in Ilocos and I would have six days to bond with the family.  :)

Move it Move it

I got a message from my uncle a few days ago. I was happy as we haven’t heard from them for a long time. They’ve recently moved from NY to New Jersey. As expected it has been quite a busy past few months for them as they have 3 kids and relocating to a new place is hard work. Good thing they got good service from a mover NYC company. It saved him from a lot of headaches. I’m glad to know that they’ve settled down now and they are loving their new house.

I look better with my shades on. This what they call “killer porma”. But wait, I better hold this thing before it drops…I need some nose bridge to hold this thing in it’s place.

Bird Watching

dsc06296.JPGI love bird watching. This is why we had a grand time at the Philippine Eagle Center in Davao last time we were there. Eagles are grand and magnificent birds. It was quite a shame that we didn’t get to visit Jurong Birdpark when we were at Singapore last May. We could have enjoyed their bird show.

I can still recall that I’ve wanted to join the bird watching club when I was still in college. I can imagine myself in the mountains, with my binoculars and looking for rare breed of birds. It is a shame that some people geared with Nikon rifle scopes hunt them. They are better seen in the wild than hanged and framed.

Rings

It’s been days now that I’ve been looking for my wedding ring. :( M0rn1ng said it will show up when we least expect it. I am 100% sure that it is just misplaced here in our house. I hang it where we usually hang our watches, near the phone. Last Thursday, I put it there along with my earrings. Friday morning, it was gone along with the earrings. I found the earrings inside a paper bag. Looks like our little boy played with these and we couldn’t find it anymore. :(

So I’m using my engagement ring again. I missed wearing it. M0rn1ng got me one of those nice engagement rings and it really fits my ring finger well. Oh well, this will do for now. I hope we can find my missing wedding ring soon.

QOTW #41

1.Does your age make you feel left out?
No. I’m still young. hehehehe.

2. How do people of the same gender as you but taller than yourself make you feel?
Envious. I wanted to be taller because it makes you look regal. Obviously I’m not that gifted in that area.

3.When did you last scream? Why?
Last night. Our little boy got hold of a bottle of clorox and played with it.

4. What do other people do that irritate you that you recognize it as a weakness in yourself?
I hate nosy and loud people…they irritate me although I know that I should accept people as they are.

5. Have you ever slipped on a banana peel?
Not yet.

6. Have you ever walked around someone else’s home barefoot?
Yes. We always take off our shoes when entering other people’s home as a sign of courtesy. If they haven’t given us slippers, we would walk into their house barefoot.

7. What do you do when you are left home alone?
Read, Connect to the internet, Sleep.

8. When someone is vague or confusing, how do you process it?
I do my best to clarify.

9. Typically, when someone says to you: “I’ll be five minutes”, how long do they actually take?
Depends on what they are currently doing.

10. For you, what is the best word in the English language?
Wonderful!

We’re Coming Home

I am so happy because we will be going to Ilocos by the end of this month. Mom and dad are already excited and cooking up activities for them and B.boy. Papa said he will do kite flying with the little boy. I’m pretty sure they will have a great time.

I’ve always loved going back home. It is my dream to settle down there and have a house of our own but not sure if my husband sees himself in that place as he has never lived in a province before. The little would surely love it as he loves the farm animals. My only worry is that he might ask our permission to take care of these animals in our backyard. Then I would have to buy all that cattle supplies to keep the livestock alive. Hahaha!

I leave you with a photo of the view at the back of our family house.

And oh, my two younger sisters will be coming home too so it will be a complete family for us. :)
