Gold Coins

It’s funny how kids appreciate coins more rather than bills. When I ask our little boy to choose between a ten peso coin and a 100 peso bill, he opted to have the coin. Hahaha!

However, come to think of it, coins can have more value that our usual paper bill. That is if you got rare coins made of gold. Most rare coin collectors and investor buy these and keep it for longer periods of time. It’s value appreciates over time and withstands inflation and market volatility. I’m thinking if we can also buy some as investment.

In the US, people buy these rare coins from Monaco Rare Coin. It is part of the Monex family of companies with proven track record of being a leader in the precious metals investments for nearly 40 years. They’ve got a very comprehensive and fine rare coins and helpful professionals to help every investor and collector’s needs. They also got a wide variety of programs and products that fit most any budget.

I just hope we have something like this in our country. I think Filipinos should also learn how to invest money in different kinds instruments.

Petra & Pilar - A Different Kind of Carinderia

img00099.jpg

I always see this resto and it looks enticing to go to. I have the impression that it is a pricey as the interiors look so nice. It was not until Chef Ed Quimson was featured in QTV 11’s Secret of the Masters that I discovered it was otherwise. It was his and Katrina Ponce Enrile’s concept of a “Sosy” Carinderia. He mentioned in the show that it showcases Filipino and Spanish fusion food at a very affordable price. It sounds to interesting so I listed it as one of our “to visit” restaurants.

I got the chance when my best friend and I celebrated our friendship anniversary. It was very near our office and our houses so I figured out that this is the best place to go and eat. When we got there, we discovered that they’re having a paella night. So we got a seafood paella (Paella Cristina @ 180).

I love this as it is very flavorful, you can taste wonderful broth that blended beautifully with the shrimp, chorizo, mussels and other sea foods. Read more…

Anniversary Updates

Our wedding anniversary is fast approaching. We’ve been planning that Boracay trip for the longest time and we waited for the Palakbayan packages to be published in their website. Sad to say, it was too late. Since it is only around 2 months away, the airfares are very steep. It will cost us a mind-blowing 36K plus if we get the Palakbayan package which includes airfare and 4D/3N hotel accommodation for 2 adults and 1 child. The lowest fare I could find coinciding our anniversary date is from Cebu Pacific and even that is expensive at 12K for the 3 of us. We will go over budget if we push through.

So were researching of alternatives. We might just go to Puerto Galera. Problem is, we’re not very familiar with that place and have no idea where to go. If you got any recommendations, please share in the comments section. I hope to finally decide on this and get it out on my to do list.

I also need to find a gift for hubby. I know he wants a brand new TV complete with one of those fabulous tv stands. But I can’t seem to afford that at the moment. Maybe that is something I can save up for on our 10th anniversary. Hahaha! I have an idea on what to give and I hope he will like it. :)

It’s 23rd and I Have a Date

img00092.jpgHappy Monthsary to us. And yes, we’re dating once again. I was so “kilig” this morning when he gave me a chocolate. :) Simple things make us girls happy right?

Anyway, my boss asked me to report to work early as he’s in Sydney and I have helped him put together his presentation. We were pressed for time to discuss last Friday so he opted to discuss early Monday morning. It’s okay as I will be able to leave early too.

M0rn1ng suggested that we go on a date because B.boy is at his grannies house. So I’m meeting my date now. We’re off on a simple movie date just like in the good old days. :)

Fat Burner

I’ve been pigging out lately. My sister who is a great cook has been staying home because she’s still looking for a job. She’s been whipping great dinners and sumptuous deserts that are so tempting to pass out. The result is added pounds for me and M0rn1ng. I hadn’t been exercising lately so all these stuff are just stored in my tummy. This is the reason why M0rn1ng has been joining the other guys from the congregation in their weekly basketball tournaments. It gives him the much needed avenue to burn fat.

But what about me? Well, I’m a lazy lady with a sedentary lifestyle. I tried to exercise before when he bought me some tae-bo DVDs. It didn’t last long as I succumb to the covers of our bed every morning. I better shape up or I might need those fat burners soon.

MIA

That’s what I am for the past couple of days. Things are crazy at work again and there is so much for me to do and accomplish offline. In as much that I want to blog, I don’t have the time nor the energy to do so. I feel so mentally drained when I go home after a long day at work. But unlike last year, I don’t have resentments as I slowly learn to love what I’m doing at work. I can feel the challenge but gone is the overwhelming feeling of not being able to surmount it. I know have the quite confidence that I can pull it through and I just need time and concerted effort. Friday, I’m happy how things came to be and the works of my hands. I hope my boss and the people I work with will appreciate the efforts and hard work.

Now I can breathe. And while the little one is asleep, I pick up the online life that I temporarily put in the shelf. I need update, research on some of the topics I want to know more about like Mesothelioma, and of course plan our Bora summer getaway. A hard worker deserves some rest eh. :)
