House Improvements

M0rn1ng is doing a lot home improvements lately. He has finished doing the fence. This prevents people from loitering infront of our house. He also bought new materials for our window screen. He will be doing it in the next few days.

Our next agenda is house painting. What color would be great. I think plain white will be good as it will give our house that more spacious look. M0rn1ng thinks otherwise and was suggesting a very light yellow hue. I might just give up and leave the decision with him.

In any case, I’m happy with all these projects that he is undertaking. I’m even contemplating giving him industrial supplies as gift. :)

Welcome back!

How was your weekend? Mine was superb! The highlight was our lunch at Dampa MOA yesterday. My SIL and BIL arrived from US and they treated us there. It was so nice to meet them all again after 2 years. The couple really looked good and happy.

We had sinigang na Pampano, Buttered Crabs, Inihaw na Tilapia, Inihaw na Liempo and Tempura. Hahaha! It was quite a feast. I am guilty. I pigged out again. How can your resist such a fare? I can see my cheeks ballooning.

So when I went online this morning, the first thing I did was to look for those top diet pills. I saw a lot it’s just that I’m so scared to try.

Views

Sharing with you the views that I had at the hotel window during my recent HK visit. Most of us were booked at Excelsior in Causeway Bay. I was grateful that the room given to me has some sort of view of the bay.

BER Months

I can’t believe it! We’re already half way through the month of August. 2 more weeks and it’s the start of the BER months. I’m not really excited because of the holidays as other people do. I know some friends who are preparing for holiday invitations, parties, and gifts. We don’t celebrate Christmas and other holidays.

What I’m looking forward is the last half of the year. It signals that I’m near the finish line. It’s triumph over the past year. You know what I mean? Plus we get a lot of benefits during the year end right? We have our 13th month pay and sick leave conversion. I’m so happy with my health at the moment as I don’t have a lot of SLs. Maybe because the team needs me and I can’t afford to be sick. :)

Adjusting

That’s what I am with the new schedule lately. We have extended our operation time coverage: from 6am till 1 am the next day. I have to change my work schedule so I could see the team coming in different shifts. So I come in at 1pm and leaves at 10pm. It has disrupted our normal routine:

- Little boy stays up until 12am because he waits up for me and would want to play.
- Our Bible Reading schedule is becoming irregular. I think we should read it the moment we wake up in the morning.
- I’m getting constipated. I usually do it early in the morning but since I wake up late, I’m still adjusting to the new rhythm.
- I sleep late.

I hope to adjust to this new schedule. There are some who says that sleeping too late is bad for your health and brings about diseases. I wonder if that includes mesothelioma. Maybe not but it does make our immune system weak.

Our Team’s Bowling Event

On July 4, the whole Entitlements Team with Project Backbone buddies trooped to the Bowling alley of Robinson’s Galleria to foster “ONE team” spirit, build relationships, and embody TR values through fun play.

There were 4 teams, each one carrying their respective colors in their creatively conceptualized uniforms. The total stand out is White team in their plain white shirts accentuated by scarves and matching hats. They bagged the Best in Costume Award.

There were 2 set of games and again White Team came off as the over all winner followed by Red & Green teams tied at second place. It was a morning of fun and excitement as each team try to best each other. Some were even surprised to discover that they have a new found talent. The first time bowlers showed up flexible and undaunted on unchartered course. It has definitely strengthened the bond of everybody and has promoted camaraderie and teamwork. We got much of what we need to brace up for the changes that lay ahead: trusty team members to rely on. The pictures tell it all!

Food @ HK

What do you enjoy the most when visiting new places? For me, it would be experiencing their culture through their FOOD! hahaha. I usually forget diet and set aside fears and try something I haven’t tried before. We had a 5 days management training last July 13 and I didn’t have much time to roam around and see the place because I was there for business and schedule was a bit hectic. However, I experience the food. Thanks for all the friends who took time to dine with us. I’m sharing all the pictures here:

Old Pics

I don’t have much to do yesterday while waiting for the little boy to wake up. I’ve finished all the available episodes of BOF and internet connection was slow. So i began scanning all the old photos I have in my drive. One thing really caught me. And that is how much weight I have gained through the years. True, that I am not chubby. But still, I have come a long way since elementary days where they use to tease me toothpick with my super skinny physique.

It’s true that your metabolism slows down as you age. So I often remind myself to go slow in eating. I don’t want to wake up one day with the harsh reality that I have so much weight to lose. I dread that as I am not a very active person and I am too lazy to exercise. I think I will just resort to weight losss supplements. I’m more inclined to take medicines, vitamins and supplements as it is no sweat. You just have to remember to take it religously.

I know, it’s pathetic. I’ve been saying it over and over to set aside time for exercise but I just couldn’t.
