BER Months

I can’t believe it! We’re already half way through the month of August. 2 more weeks and it’s the start of the BER months. I’m not really excited because of the holidays as other people do. I know some friends who are preparing for holiday invitations, parties, and gifts. We don’t celebrate Christmas and other holidays.

What I’m looking forward is the last half of the year. It signals that I’m near the finish line. It’s triumph over the past year. You know what I mean? Plus we get a lot of benefits during the year end right? We have our 13th month pay and sick leave conversion. I’m so happy with my health at the moment as I don’t have a lot of SLs. Maybe because the team needs me and I can’t afford to be sick. :)

Adjusting

That’s what I am with the new schedule lately. We have extended our operation time coverage: from 6am till 1 am the next day. I have to change my work schedule so I could see the team coming in different shifts. So I come in at 1pm and leaves at 10pm. It has disrupted our normal routine:

- Little boy stays up until 12am because he waits up for me and would want to play.
- Our Bible Reading schedule is becoming irregular. I think we should read it the moment we wake up in the morning.
- I’m getting constipated. I usually do it early in the morning but since I wake up late, I’m still adjusting to the new rhythm.
- I sleep late.

I hope to adjust to this new schedule. There are some who says that sleeping too late is bad for your health and brings about diseases. I wonder if that includes mesothelioma. Maybe not but it does make our immune system weak.

Our Team’s Bowling Event

On July 4, the whole Entitlements Team with Project Backbone buddies trooped to the Bowling alley of Robinson’s Galleria to foster “ONE team” spirit, build relationships, and embody TR values through fun play.

There were 4 teams, each one carrying their respective colors in their creatively conceptualized uniforms. The total stand out is White team in their plain white shirts accentuated by scarves and matching hats. They bagged the Best in Costume Award.

There were 2 set of games and again White Team came off as the over all winner followed by Red & Green teams tied at second place. It was a morning of fun and excitement as each team try to best each other. Some were even surprised to discover that they have a new found talent. The first time bowlers showed up flexible and undaunted on unchartered course. It has definitely strengthened the bond of everybody and has promoted camaraderie and teamwork. We got much of what we need to brace up for the changes that lay ahead: trusty team members to rely on. The pictures tell it all!
