Bronze Award for Biboy

Awards are given to recognize Kumon students who have progressed in math or reading studies beyond their school grade level, or who have made other significant achievements in their Kumon study. Biboy has already finished 3 levels in five months which made him qualify as a bronze awardee. Daddy and I are so proud of the progress of our little boy now that he can read. He is also good in spelling. His next target is the silver award hopefully by June. Go Biboy we love you so much.

Piggy Bank

Last year, Morning bought Biboy a small piggy bank so he could start saving at an early age. Biboy has started putting all his coins and sometimes becomes impatient and wanted to open his piggy bank already. He drops in his silver coins (1 peso), gold coins (5 pesos) and a combination of silver and gold coins (10 pesos). It is almost half full now and Biboy will deposit it in his junior savings bank account once it is full.

Biboy and Madagascar

madagascar2005.jpg

I’ve recently bought a Madagascar DVD for Biboy and since then he watches it almost everyday.   He laughs at each funny scene and even asks me to enable to subtitle so that he could understand what those animal characters are saying.  Whoa…our little boy can read. He just watched it this morning and he’s gonna watch it again tomorrow.  I like to move it, move it…

Biboy Loves Numbers

After Kumon’s two week free trial, Biboy is official enrolled to its Math program. His diagnostic test results says that he won’t be starting on the starting level (7A) but instead will start on the next level (6A). And just after 20 days, he finished level 6A and will move to level 5A next week. He can now count dots up to 20 by just the glance of his eyes. Inside the class, he’s using number boards and flash cards under time pressure to get him used to number sequence. I hope Biboy will be just like his me, who loves numbers so much.

This May 23, 2010 Morning and I will be celebrating our 5th wedding anniversary. It seems like it was just yesterday when I’m still single. But now, I have a very loving and supportive husband and of course I have my very lovable and sweet son, Biboy. We are planning to visit Subic on our anniversary and enojoy the beach and watch those dolphins. I’m sure Biboy will enjoy it. We are all looking forward to it.

Biboy can Text!!!

Our little boy loves to use his dady’s celphone.  He knows how to play games, take pictures and even shoot videos.  He can navigate his dad’s mobile phone like a 25 year old.   Last month, Daddy joked on teaching Biboy how to send text messages (SMS).  He gave Biboy at least a month to learn how to text but lo and behold, he was able to do it less than 20 minutes.  I can’t believe it but it’s true. We were all surprised and so his dad.  Biboy now sends text messages to me while I’m in the office.  He texts his mama and papa in Ilocos and lolo and lola in Las Pinas.  And maybe soon he’ll text his Titas in London and in Los Angeles.   Tita, if you could, please send me some celphone load. Or maybe get me my first phone. - Biboy

Its Summer!

Last Sunday, we went to Los Banos, Laguna with some of our friends for a whole day swimming adventure. Ofcourse, Biboy enjoyed every minute of it.   We arrived as early 7:3o in the morning and left the place at 6pm.  They had 1 big pool and a childrens pool.  I’ll post more pix later. The picture below is the bigger pool.

Biboys Games

My little boy loves to play games. We recently bought him board games like “slides and ladders” and “gotcha!” Because of this, he can now add through the numbers on the dice. He also enjoys arcade games in Timezone like “Go Ball”, car racing and bowling. Sometimes he plays games on Mornings cellphone which usually drains the battery. I think it would be better for him to play this type of games instead of buying him an xbox 360 which is costly nowadays.

Biboy can Read

Morning took Biboy to his Kumon center this morning. Afterwards they went to the post office to mail letters and Biboy was the one who dropped them in the mailbox. Everytime he sees words on the streets, buildings, buses and others, he tries to read them. Morning was amazed on how Biboy recognizes new words. He was able to read ‘post office’, ‘welcome’, ‘bank’ and a lot more. When they were inside the mall, he saw a word spelled s-a-l-e. Then Biboy said the word sale very clearly. But then he asked “Daddy, what does the word sale mean?” So daddy did a little explaining.  But we are so happy of his progress in reading.

B.boy’s First Camping Experience

This is again a late post.   (December pa kasi to when we went home to Ilocos)  It deserves a blog post as it is one of our little boy’s many firsts.  It was my dad’s idea for him to have a camping experience.  We were supposed to do it at a beach resort in Currimao.  However, that day turned out to be very windy and cold.  So we just decided to use our empty lot near Currimao and use the old building structure instead of pitching tents.

My dad invited a lot of kids from their congregation along with their parents.  We had a very nice bonfire as you can see here.

We also had a rice cooking contest between daddies and their kids. The challenge is to produce the best cooked rice using just the bamboo as rice container. My boys were one of the contestants and we came in third out of the 5 pairs who joined. (wasn’t bad noh?)We also had a rice cooking contest between daddies and their kids.
