Monthly Household Expenses

I saw this at Aggie’s blog that I found interesting….

How many sq meters is your place, and how many people live there?
I’m not sure of the exact size but this is just around 50-60 sq meters. My 2 sisters live with us and the yaya which adds to a total of 6 people. This is the reason why I always declutter because we have a small space to manage. It looks very hard to manage when there are a lot of unecessary things.

How much is your electricity bill monthly? Water?
Electricity - around 1,600 to 1,800. Last summer it shoot up to 3K because of the aircon but this year it broke down and M0rn1ng and I didn’t bother to have it repaired…so we endured the summer heat. In exchange, we don’t have to pay for huge electric bill. hahahaha!

Water - around 400-500 bucks. This is given because there are a lot of people in the house and we do our laundry here too.
Drinking water is around 500. My sisters and I are seldom at home so we just drin our home water in the mornings, evenings and during weekends.

Other utilities?
House Rent - 7,000. This is huge but since the apartment is very near everything then I must say na nakakatipid na rin kami. One is travel time and also sa pamasahe.
Phone Bills (mine and M0rn1ngs) - around 2,200 (cp Smart)
LPG - 635
Health Supplements - 1K
Rice - 1,800. I buy 1 sack of rice which is good for 1 and a half month.
Yaya - 2,500. But she stays until the end of the month na lang. More on tha later.
Laundry Person - 1,200.
Our allowances - 5K. This is where we get our transpo and food expenses whenever we are at work.

Groceries? Market?
I do them together in just one go. I can’t do wet marketing because of my asthma. So I buy our ulam in the grocery. Before we would average around 12K per month. But we recently able to cut it down to 10K. :) We found out that things are way way cheaper at Makro than Waltermart. We also cut down on meat consumption. Fish, chicken and veggies are not only cheaper but healthier as well.

Add them all together, malaki rin ano? So we decided to cut our entertainment allowance as well. Before we eat out to somewhere special once a month. We don’t do that anymore, instead we just cook something special here at home. We still go out once in a while pero di na kasing dalas ng dati.

Zero Comes Before Juan

Published by nice under Bargains, Travel

I’m so happy because we finally booked a flight to Davao. We were looking for cheap flights a few months ago but there was none. Even the Palakbayan offerings are too expensive for us to grab.

So I was glad to receive an email today regarding Cebu Pac’s recent promo. The offer zero fares to domestic and international flights. The promotional seat sale will run from May 15 to 18, 2008 or until the allocated 500,000 seats are sold out. Travel period is from June 9 to December 31, 2008.

We booked for 7 pax and we are leaving for Davao with my family mid October. This will be our anniversary gift to my parents this May 19.

My officemates got round trip tickets to Singapore for only Php 3,794. Good deal di ba?

Graduation Gift

Published by nice under Bargains, shopping

March is the month of graduations. Sometimes it is April but I think for this year it will be March as they want to start the holiday right after the Holy week. We have one friend who is graduating from elementary school and I’m thinking of a nice gift to give.

Thank goodness there is couponchief.com. It is a one stop coupon deal and discount resource. I’m thinking of giving a nice pair of shoes from Shoebuy. They’ve got coupon’s that gives 20% off and there’s another one that give 65% on shoes, free shipping and no Sales tax.

Or I might buy something from Old Navy. They’ve got great bargains on clothes.

I’m sure our friend will be happy to receive something on his graduation.

Fish & Co.

Published by nice under Bargains, Food and Restos

We tried out Fish & Co. at MOA a few Sundays ago. We were very pleased with the service. The waiters are very attentive and they served our orders promptly. Here is what we had

Clam Chowder Soup. We ordered soup for B.boy because he was having stomach aches that week.

dsc01713.JPG

It was really nice and creamy.

Then we got this Pork Chop Basilico. I loved the rice that comes with it but the chops are a bit bland.

dsc01717.JPG

And since we have an SM Advantage card, we got this Fish & Chips worth P400 for free. They have a promo that they give this our for free upon presenting the card and purchasing P750 worth of food and drinks. Cool eh?

dsc01718.JPG

We also had this Jungle freeze for drinks. I love it so much! It’s a mix of pineapple and rambutan and it is also big enough to share.  1 liter sha eh.  :)

dsc01715.JPG

I would love to come back to this resto again and will remind myself to bring my SMAC along.

Citibank is currently having a promo with Waltermart. You get free 2 pieces of 480mL Nestea for a minimum single receipt purchase of P500 with your Citibank Credit Card at participating Supermarkets. We usually, swipe our card twice so that we can maximize the free iced tea. Sayang nga kasi they only allow two transactions. Weekly Grocery

We just got home from Waltermart. We went there after the meeting at the Kingdom Hall to do the weekly grocery. Our cupboard and fridge are already empty. We went ahead of M0rn1ng as they still have elder’s meeting at the hall. I went gaga over Pamper’s diaper. They are on “Buy two Take one” promo so I bought 8 packs. I guess this will last until two and half to three months. I saved around three pesos per piece and this translates to around 360 pesos savings in a month and 1080 in three months.

We went to Karate Kid to have lunch. This is the newest food chain in Waltermart and we are eager to try it out. They even have a promo with Abenson’s card. Finally, napakinabangan din main sha. B.boy ate a lot. He loved the katsudon and the gyoza. I’ll post another entry in this complete with pictures later.

I’m blogging as B.boy is taking his nap. We’ll go to our bible study appointments later when he wakes up.

Save Buckets

Published by nice under Bargains, Blogging Benefits, shopping

I want to share a cool site if you’re looking for bargains. Save Buckets is a price comparison site that helps you find the lowest price for the items you need. Just type in the product or item you are looking for and savebuckets will find the best price. You can also search by shops or by categories. If you found what you want but the price isn’t right, you even have an option to tell them your budget and they’ll email you once the product becomes available at your specified price.

Press Release:
GHOST OF CHRISTMAS PAST HAUNTS INDEBTED BRITS

- New price saving site launches to save Brits up to 20% this Christmas -

As the nation approaches the final countdown to Christmas, new research rings alarm bells over the financial impact of Christmas in credit crunch Britain. The research from the new money saving website Savebuckets.com reveals that as Brits prepare for Christmas, many are still paying off last year’s festive spending.

With 41 per cent of Britons paying for Christmas on credit last year, almost one in five are still paying for last year’s festivities (17%), fewer than one in three having cleared their Christmas debts when their January credit card bill arrived (29%).

Following a year of consumer confidence in 2006, Christmas spending soared 52 per cent in two years (from an average £548 per adult in 2004* to £837 per adult in 2006), with over one in five Brits spending over £1,000 on Christmas last year (22%). This year, with spending power at its lowest level for 10 years**, consumers are feeling the financial hangover from a more confident Christmas enjoyed on the credit card and loans.

Alarmingly, it is cash strapped youngsters and low income earners who, having spent the most on last Christmas, are most likely to be feeling the repercussions of last year’s spending spree (see figures below).

The research into the financial impacts of last Christmas amongst a GB representative sample of 2,000 British adults was carried out by the new money savings website Savebuckets.com which launches this week to enable Brits to get more for their money this Christmas.

With these alarming figures in mind, Savebuckets.com will give shoppers the opportunity to save up to 20% on their Christmas shopping. Putting consumers back in control of their spending, the site searches over 700 retailers for the best price on around one million products. The site includes a unique price checker which allows consumers to set the price they want to pay for items, notifying them when the price of a product falls to within their budget.

I found some Bargains

Published by nice under Bargains, shopping

19387330.jpgYep, I found some good buys yesterday when we went to SM Mall of Asia. First off, Bayo is having a sale. I was able to buy a very nice striped orange knitted blouse at 50% off. Oh they have a lot of items half of its original price. Wala lang kasi sa budget so I only got to buy one.

Then we went to Book Sale and we found the book What to Expect the Toddler Years. It’s selling at 345 bucks while at National Bookstore it is pegged at almost 900. It still looks brand new so we’re very happy. It discusses toddler’s stage starting 13 months to 36 months.

If you are in a lookout for cheap books try Book Sale.
