Makeup Artist

Published by nice under Beauty

Recently I’ve taken a great deal of interest in makeup. I bought my very own brushes and makeup. I’m tickled pink whenever people give compliments on how good I blended the colors and how it appear so natural and enhancing the natural beauty.

If I would like to venture in something new, then I would opt to be a makeup artist. I would specialize in wedding makeup and make all the brides glowing and beautiful on their big day. I personally think that jobs in beauty is a good career. You just have to be good at what you do.

In the US, they even have an online job search engine for those in the beauty industry. This is how in demand these people are. I hope there is something like this in our country too.

Top Ten Most Beautiful in Phil Showbiz

Published by nice under Beauty, Entertainment

I am always watching the show from QTV 11 where they list out top ten of whatever every Sunday. Last week’s episode is about the one in my blog title. I was curious to know because I have my own list of Phils Most Beautiful Women in Show Business. True enough, Dawn Zulueta, Gretchen Barreto, Kristine Hermosa, Bea Alonzo, Iza Calsado and KC Concepcion was there. Their criteria is based on classic and timeless beauty, symmetric face and flawless skin. I bet none of those ever needed acne treatments.

I’m just wondering why Angel Locsin did not get into the list. I think she’s really beautiful. Is it because they do not want to give her any exposure since she moved to the competitor TV Network? Hmmmm.

What if?

Published by nice under Beauty, Health, M0rn1ng

We saw one of our old acquaintance at the assembly yesterday and M0rn1ng noticed that she gained a lot of weight. I asked him what if I become bigger than her in the following years. His answer?

“You will never be that BIG mommy because I will take care of you.” I’m not sure what he means by that. I wonder if that includes letting me take in one of those best diet pills out in the market.

Showers

Published by nice under Beauty, Health, Just Me

It is my dream to have a very own spa at home. I always have terrible colds or sinusitis which is a real pain in the neck. I noticed that the incidence is lessened when I go to the spa’s sauna or steam room regularly. The problem is, spa memberships are always expensive and I don’t get the most out of it because I do not have time to exercise. All I want there are the massage services and the sauna and steam room.

Recently, the costs of these items to be installed in the bathroom of one’s home had become affordable. Now you can install a steam shower at an affordable price. Some of these come with additional features such as foot massagers and aromatherapy. Just the mere thought of it is pure bliss to me.

I found out that steam showers should have good and durable shower enclosures that will prevent the water vapor to escape to the other parts of the room as this will damage the drywall paint or wallpapers. This is a great reminder for one contemplating purchase to choose wisely.

How I wish we can afford to have this someday. In the meantime, I will be content in having our bathroom showers. It still can relieve some of the stress by having a hot bath. :)

Skin Care

Published by nice under Beauty, Health

Acne is a disorder of the skin that causes it to be spotted or even disfigured by pimples, blackheads, red swellings, or cysts. People of all ages can be afflicted with it, but teenagers suffer the most. According to some experts, about 80 percent develop acne in varying degrees.

Sad to say, no miracle cure exists. There are, however, acne treatments available, such as gels, creams, lotions, washes, soaps, and facial masks, containing benzoyl peroxide (an antibacterial agent) that can help bring acne under control. Many find that cleansing their skin thoroughly with a soap or wash containing benzoyl peroxide is helpful. However, avoid oily soaps or oil-based cosmetics.

Some have also found that by taking care of their overall health—getting plenty of exercise, being out in the fresh air as much as possible, and getting enough sleep—their acne condition improves. And while the benefits of maintaining a fat-free diet are debated by some, avoiding junk food, as well as eating a balanced diet, obviously makes sense.

In any event, patience is a must. Remember: The problem built up over quite a period of time, so it will not clear up overnight. By sticking to a treatment over a period of time, you may experience some relief.

Meanwhile, do not let a few blemishes crush your self-esteem or inhibit your talking with others. While you may feel quite self-conscious about your skin, others probably notice it a lot less than you think. So try to keep a positive, happy spirit. And do what you can for your acne right now!

Diet Supplements

Published by nice under Beauty, Health

Whenever I watch TV would get a barrage of commercials about weight loss pills. There’s Fitrum, Slenda, and Xenical to name a few. I’m intrigue on what components these diet supplements have.

Then I’ve read about Generic Acomplia. According to research this works on brain receptors in the brain that block cravings for food and some substances. It works on the part of the brain that regulates appetite and energy. So it makes one desire to eat less.

Other than weight loss this is also effective in cutting down nicotine cravings which is perfect for those who want to quit smoking. So it is like hitting two birds with one stone by losing weight and promoting healthy living.

However as in any diet supplements, it should be coupled with proper diet and exercise so that you get the best out of it.

Jewelry

Published by nice under Beauty, Health, Just Me

There is no better gift to a woman than a fine jewelry. Be it earrings, necklace, bracelets, we love them all don’t we? So when M0rn1ng asked me what gift I want for our wedding anniversary, I hinted that I would love to receive a pair of pearl earrings or a nice necklace, something that I can keep for a very long time.

For those with medical conditions,  jewelry such as medical alert bracelets would be nice.  Your primary medical conditions, ID number and the 24-hour emergency response center number will be engraved in these bracelets.  This is one great way to protect your health.

2 Things That Made Me Happy…

Published by nice under Beauty, My Thoughts, Travel

I got two things that made me happy yesterday.

(1) Passport - At long last our passports are here. It’s the first one for M0rn1ng and our little boy and my third. It looks way way better than the previous ones. We’re so excited because we can already feel that we’re going to Singapore soon. Which reminds me that I have to research for our trip. Does anybody know if it is cheaper to stay at the hotel airport than in a regular one? We will arrive at midnight and we don’t want to bother our friend to pick us up. We might just go to their house in the morning.

And oh, we will be saving a lot for this trip because our friend invited us to stay with them in their home.

(2) Mineral make-up. The package arrived yesterday. My blogger friend Andrea told me that I can order free samples from their site. The kit consists of 3 colors of foundation, a blush, and a concealer. I’m so excited to try it on. I wanted to see if there is really a difference between chemical based and mineral make-up.

I was really pleased because it only took a week to arrive, it’s free and I only have to pay $5 for the shipping.

How To Lose Weight

Published by nice under Beauty, Health

The question on how to lose weight is a very special topic for moms like me. Most of us would like to go back to our pre-pregnancy size and shed those unwanted pounds.

To be able to do that, changes may have to be made in what we have been eating. Avoiding fatty foods—such as cheeseburgers or foods fried in fat—makes good dietary sense. Sugary soft drinks and pastries are likewise low in nutrition and high in calories. And though a lot of salt on a lean piece of beef may taste great, it causes our body to retain water.

Most dietitians agree that enjoying a little of our favorite foods once in a while won’t hurt us. But if we really want to lose weight, we must develop a taste for healthier foods such as fruits, nuts, whole grains, and vegetables.

While eating right is important, we will not shed pounds unless we turn up your brain’s “thermostat.” How? By engaging in moderate aerobic exercise for about 20 minutes at least three times a week. Something as simple as a brisk walk or stair climbing may suffice. Exercise helps us look leaner and trimmer no matter what our weight or body type. As it turns up our metabolic furnace, we burn calories and fat. Through exercise we can alter our body chemistry. We can increase our muscle mass, and muscles burn calories even when you’re sleeping! :)

Pearls

Published by nice under Beauty, Just Me, My Thoughts

What’s your favorite jewelry? Mine are not diamonds or gold. True, they have lustrous appeal but I prefer the understated elegance of freshwater pearls. They look so simple but they can adorn anybody who wears them.

I love to wear them as earrings. I received one as a graduation gift a few years back. Too bad it got lost. I’ll buy a replacement once I got some extra money.
