Toxic Beauty

Many young women are looking for a wrinkle filler that will make those wrinkles invisible. But do you know that there is a cosmetic procedure that involves injecting the deadly toxin botulin to eliminate facial wrinkles? The procedure uses the toxin which paralyzes selected facial muscles, which in a few days lose their tone, causing wrinkles to flatten out. The treatment lasts for about four months and leaves a patient with a more relaxed, youthful appearance. However, there is a toll exacted. Users lose their wrinkles, but they also lose their ability to raise their brows in surprise, to have a smile spread up to their eyes, and to frown. It is a matter of being prepared to “paralyze parts of your face for the beauty of youth,”. You wanna try it!

Smoking and Wrinkles

According to a study made by Dr. Harry W. Daniell, of Redding, California, smoking actually ages a person faster than normal. After studying 1,100 persons, he found that facial wrinkles, especially those around the eyes, were deeper among persons who smoke than among nonsmokers. He observed: “In every age group, the subjects with progressively higher wrinkle scores included progressively larger percentages of smokers. And the most heavily wrinkled class in each age group was composed entirely of smokers.” Those smokers in their forties had facial wrinkling equivalent to that of nonsmokers twenty years older. So if you don’t want to have that wrinkle treatment at age 30, throw that cigarette now.

Flat Stomach

Belly fat seems to be a huge problem for lots of people, especially men. Naturally, men tend to hold more fat around their waistline, which we call beer belly or pot belly. Knowing how to lose belly fat is the first step in gaining that flat stomach that so many people aspire to. Losing the beer belly and getting a flat stomach can be a painfully slow experience, but it is certainly worth the efforts. The rewards are not only a better looking and sexier body, but also improved long term health.

I Hope Age is Just a Number

We’re nearly at the end of September and it’s barely 8 months and we’re at the end of the year. I’m not so looking forward to 2010. This is my last year on the 20 something bracket and 3-0 is such a dreadful number. It looks and sounds sooooo old.

A few years more, I’ll get those unwanted pounds, lines and wrinkles. Yesterday, I was searching the net and a best wrinkle cream ad has caught my attention. I was thinking if I would be needing one soon. What do you think?

I Love Weekends

Who doesn’t? It’s the time to bond with the family and we get to cook special food at home. :)

I bought Mother Earth’s sisig yesterday when we did our grocery shopping. They have the best sisig and everyone in our house love it. We had it for lunch today on our sizzling plate. We paired it up with bataw (edible pots) salad. We had coke and ice cream for dessert. Obviously, I was stuffed to the full.

One of our friends commented that I’m gaining weight. I expect that as I’m ageing and metabolism is not as fast as it was before. Besides, I admit that I eat more than ever. I’ve been realizing the need to exercise and hit the gym but I’m too lazy to do those stuff. I think I prefer taking diet pills and watch what I eat.

Diet Supplements

I was looking at diet supplements when I came across this article which is worth sharing

Vitamin Supplements and Cancer

A review of 14 studies involving 170,000 participants suggests that vitamin supplements do not protect against cancer of the throat, stomach, liver, intestines, and pancreas. According to the medical magazine Deutsches Ärzteblatt, the antioxidant supplements beta carotene and vitamins A, C, and E not only have no beneficial effect but could even slightly increase the cancer risk. Dr. Richard Sullivan of Cancer Research UK explains: “There are no shortcuts to prevent bowel cancer. If you’re taking vitamins to protect yourself against the disease, you’re wasting your money.” He adds: “The best way to lower the risk is to eat a healthy diet and not smoke.”

The Price of Beauty

We were watching the celebrity news last night and I noticed that more and more celebrities are going out in the open to admit that they’ve undergone surgery just to look good. It’s no wonder that Belo and Calayan’s business are booming these days. The trend is that if you are a celebrity who banks on good looks for their career, it is imperative that you spend to go to these beauty medical groups.

For those who don’t have much to spend, they try different diet pills. I have a friend who has been trying these products for quite some time now. Recently she has been researching and reading about Lipofuze reviews. I was relived that she was researching and reading reviews before taking anything. Sometimes these pills and procedures have not so good effects.

Zits

It is really getting hot. I can feel the summer heat. I love this kind of weather as I am up and active all time. :) Can’t wait to hit the beach and soak in the sun.

However, I noticed that I slowly get zits on my face. Maybe because I sweat more and dust and dirt sticks on my face. I need to wash my face more and ensure that it is clean. I wanted to take care of this before it becomes a big problem that needs to be dealt with acne treatments. :)

Jan 26

I turned a year older today. Next year I will be in the line of 3s. Surprisingly, I suddenly feel old. Hahaha! I began to reflect how I have spent my twenties years. As I look back, I realized that it wasn’t bad. With God’s help I was able to fulfill some of my dreams:
- work in a multinational company.
- off-shored to Korea for a month.
- promoted three times.
- head a business unit
- attend an international convention as a foreign delegate.
- regular pioneer for three years.
- attend PSS.
- had a boyfriend, who later became my husband.
- had a good wedding.
- had a son whom I breastfed until he was two and a half years old.

I still have one year to work on the other parts that is still under construction. When I looked at the mirror this morning I realized that I’ve grown older, not only emotionally but also physically. My hips were now wider, gone was the “skinny me” ten years ago. My tummy has love handles due to the pregnancy. I am beginning to control my eating habits seeing that my metabolism were slower than it once have been. I dread that I wake up one day and will be desperately needing one of those best diet pills in the market.

We can not escape the fact that all of us will eventually grow old but I just hope that I will age gracefully. :)
