National Treasure : Book of Secrets

Yep, we spent Sunday night in a movie date. We were not supposed to bring B.boy along as lola and lolo cannot make it with us. But he was whining non stop when we are getting dressed and we don’t have the heart to leave him behind. Good thing my youngest sister agreed to come with us. At first she was hesitant as it was the first time that the little one will be left to her care. We left them to play at Dave’s Fun House and we instructed them to eat at Jollibee after.

After buying burgers, nachos and drinks at Taters, we entered the movie house. It was a bit full. Good thing we arrived just in time. I loved the sequel as much as the first one. The most exciting part was when Ben kidnapped the president and has to find the clue at the Book of Secrets. :) It was very entertaining and I am glad that M0rn1ng and I had gone to a movie date after so many months.

We’re wondering how B.boy and her tita fared during the two hours that we’re gone. This is what we saw… Continue Reading »

What’s up Sunday?

The little boy has colds again. He has a difficult time sleeping last night due to it. He wakes up every hour to nurse and he keeps on tossing and turning. I didn’t get enough sleep as well. So we slept a couple of hours this afternoon. It’s just sad because we haven’t had been able to join the house-to-house activity. I’ll just conduct a bible study later.

Morn1ng is inviting me to watch National Treasure with him later. I’m dying to go because I haven’t watched any movie for a long time. We’ve heard good reviews so I’m sure we will enjoy it. Lolo and lola volunteered to watch B.boy for us while we are on our movie date. Great! :)

Home Cinema

movies.gifM0rn1ng loves watching movies. He told me that when there was a time when he was still single that he watched every single foreign movie shown in the cinema. Now that he is a bit older and has responsibilities he mellowed down. Since we have a child which we couldn’t bring along in the movie house, we contented ourselves with watching DVDs at home. Sometimes we cook popcorn or buy chips to make the movie experience more delightful. I wish we could have a home theater furniture too so that we can have the comforts of the cinema right inside our home.

On Love and Marriage

Published by nice under Big Screen, Kilig Moments, M0rn1ng

The movie Kasal Kasali Kasalo was shown today at channel 2 and we were able to catch it while munching our lunch. We’ve heard good reviews about it but we never got to see it in big screen. It’s difficult to find time watching a movie when you have a little child.

Well, it was really good and M0rn1ng and I could relate in much of the dialogues. It was really realistic. I’ll let you in a secret. The first few months of our marriage were horrible. We (?) or maybe it’s just me that didn’t expect it to turn up that way. Now I realize that it’s just but normal having been raised up in 2 extremely different households. I discovered after the wedding that some of my husband’s ways are annoying. That’s because we are brought up differently. I should have known and accepted that fact instead of pushing my ways to M0rn1ng. What Judy Ann’s dad said in the movie was really wise. He said that we marry the person not to change them but to love them as they are. It hit the mark, bull’s eye. Hahaha!

We’ve been married for almost three years now and I say I’ve learned a lot. I’ve learned to love him, as what he is and not try to mold him to what I think is ideal. I’ve also learned to disagree without being disagreeable and work out our differences in a calm way.

True, marriage is a union of 2 imperfect individuals but it is the love between us that makes it perfect. It forgoes shortcomings and forgives faults. And as the years unfold, I’ve seen love transform. From the fiery passion on the first two years of our relationship to being self-sacrificing and being always there when we had a child. I am sure our love is enough to last a lifetime. I love my husband and I will always will.

Cinema at Home

Published by nice under Big Screen, Blogging Benefits, M0rn1ng

It’s been so hard to go to the movies since our little one was born.  Sometimes we feel so guilty leaving him at home while we were out having a good time.  If i only have the money, i’ll get him a home theater seating so that he can enjoy the cinema experience even at home.

I’m glad that M0rn1ng is not the whining type.  He’s very understanding and is quite happy to put our two-some quality time on the back seat in the meantime.  He even told me that B.boy will pass this stage when he needs his parents most only once.  Eventually he will grow up and would be independent.  So better savor the moment that he needs us.  We’ll reclaim our “me time” later.   :)

No Sacrifice No Victory

Words of wisdom from Optimus Prime.

As i’ve written in my previous post, we are supposed to watch Transformers last Friday.  Morning went with B.boy and i met them there after work.  Kalungkot lang kasi wala na sha dun.  The 3 cinemas are showing Harry Potter and the other Die Hard.  Eh ayaw naman namin nung 2 movies so we just decided to have merienda at Jollibee.  B.boy had fun at Dave’s funhouse while i did the groceries.

We planned to go to Glorietta the next day since we want to watch it so badly.  Plan namin pag nag afternoon nap si B.boy saka kami pupunta.  Kaya lang i was so tired that day and B.boy didn’t give me decent sleep so i was napping with B.boy in the afternoon.  M0rn1ng was disappointed because the movie will start in 45 mins and i’m still sleeping.  Ako naman grumpy because half of me wants to rest and half of me wants to go watch a movie.  Ewan….minsan di ko rin maintindihan sarili ko.  I got ready and Morning was hurrying me.  So ayun…nakasimangot ako the whole taxi ride.

The queue was long when we got there.  Sold out na rin lahat ng tickets for 1:45 showing.  Pero we decided to stand up na lang king walang seats.  Di na pwede yung next showing kasi may lakad pa kasi kami after that.  After a few minutes we got our tickets and entered the cinema.  Good thing, 2 seats were vacated so we were able to take a seat.  Ganda pa ng location namin.

Astig talaga nung nagtransform na yung mga Autobots!  I can relate kasi i used to watched them when i was a child.  I even played with those robots tapos may kasama pang make-believe dialogues.  There are loopholes in the script pero ang galing talaga ng effects.  As in wow! So never mind the script.  I enjoyed the movie despite na muntik na di kami natuloy.  As Optimus Prime, leader of the Autobots said :  No Sacrifice No Victory.

Transformers

Last Friday i was surprised to know that M0rn1ng is going to the cinema to watch Transformers.  I was a little disappointed because i wanted to watch it too and he went ahead without me.  I texted him a sad face and told him that i wanted to watch.  Being the sweet husband that he is, he went home eventhough he is already at the cinema.  He told me he’s going to wait for me and we’ll watch it together.  I’m so happy that today is the day.  Maybe we will bring Andre but drop him off at Dave’s funhouse while we’re at the moviehouse.  I hope we enjoy Transformers.  :)

Just thinking out loud by the way, how do deaf or those people with hearing difficulties enjoy movies?  I googled to find some answers and was surprised that there is a thing called closed captioning.  According to Wikipedia: “closed captioning allows people who are deaf or hard of hearing to read a transcript or dialog of the audio portion of a video, film or other presentation.  As the video plays, text captions are displayed that transcribe (although not always verbatim) speech and often other relevant sounds.”  Hey, that’s cool!  :)

Back to Work

After the long week-end we are back to work.  So how was it?   Are you energized or still lethargic?  How did you spend the long week-end?

Well, our plans pushed through.  Pretty exciting as we experienced many firsts; the MRT ride with B.boy, visit to Gateway, and first movie as a family.  So how was it you may ask?  hehehe.  A bit tiring but it was so much fun.

MRT Ride

We ran into some problems in the MRT because we brought the stroller.  Ramps are few and we have to carry the bulky thing up and down the stairs and escalators.  We even forgot our umbrella in the train because we have a lot of ‘bit-bit’.  However, we soon realized the wisdom of it when B.boy decided to nap.  We can put him down and we did not have a hard time mall hopping as he rode the stroller most of the time.

Overall, we enjoyed the experience.  It’s like riding it again for the first time as we’re seeing it through the eyes of our child.  You should have seen his amazement and curios looks as we passed through tall buildings, billboards, and cars.  Here are some shots.

(Here’s the little one doing his signature pa-cute. Please ignore me…i looked so harassed.  :p  )

dsc00861.JPG

(Here he is with Daddy. Some guard reprimanded us for having photos at the platform. I did not know it’s not allowed.  Do you guys know why? )

Gateway

The place is cool but not so baby friendly.  There are few ramps for strollers and there are no activity center for kids.  Please correct me if there is ha. We caught our fancy is the garden at the middle which has a koi pond.  Here’s the little one loooking at the fishes.

dsc00859.JPG

dsc00850.JPGWe had lunch at a place called Rasa Singapura.  The enticing line in their flyer is “we have the authentic Singapore cuisine in town”.  Well not the exact wording but something to that effect.  So we decided to give it a try.  We ordered their sampler for appetizer, gingered fish fillets, hainanese rice, coke and iced tea.  The roti that comes with the sampler is delish but the spicy squid and kangkong is too spicy for my liking.  The satay is so-so.  Now, the gingered fish fillets and the iced tea are the sure winner for us.  Their iced tea has dragon fruit seeds by the way.  :)

Overall, food and service is okay.  I would be glad if the servings are more generous though.  A decent meal for that like the one that we had would cost you around 600-700 bucks.

After lunch, B.boy snoozed so we hang out at CBTL at the cinema level.  We can’t decide if we’re going to watch Shrek 3 or not.  What helped us decide is the cost.  160 bucks and we have to pay for B.boy’s  tickets too.  Not worth it especially the little one is sleeping at that time.  So we just hang out at the coffee shop until B.boy woke up.  We just love their white chocolate dream. IMHO, CBTL is better than Starbucks.

B.boy napped for about 2 hours.  When he woke up he was pointing at the Shrek 3 poster.  We figured out that he wanted to watch a movie, then M0rn1ng remembered that we have these 2 free movie tickets which are valid to Ayala Cinemas.  So off we go to Glorietta. Too, bad it wasn’t shown there anymore and we have to go to Greenbelt 3.  Coming from the Ayala MRT station, that was quite a long walk but we enjoyed it nonetheless.

Shrek 3

This is B.boy’s first movie.  It was great that they allowed him in. However, we were told that we must bring him out if he cries so as not to disturb other moviegoers.  He stayed put for the first 30 minutes.  Saying  “miming” whenever he sees puss in boots  and “baaa baaa” for donkey.  hahaha!  I think they have a short attention span because after that he wants to go out and play hide and seek.

So we went to the alley and let him play while i watch the rest of the movie.  It’s so great to finally be able watch a movie again.  The last one we had was Casino Royale and that was like ages ago.  :)  Shrek is an entertaining movie.  Hilarous and M0rn1ng and I were laughing at most parts.

I leave you with B.boy’s picture at Greenbelt.  I hope you had a great week-end too.  :)

Samut-Sari

We watched Ms. Congeniality today. It was great to finally been able to watch a movie after a long time. We’ve been so caught up in our preps that we weren’t able to see a movie. The Part II is fun but I like the first one better. Anyway what do you expect? Sequels seldom outdid prequels.

We also got our souvenir labels from Robee stickers. They look good and they were able to finish it is a week. Great!!! =)

04.04.05

We are sooo happy! We are done adressing all our invites. They are now ready for distribution.

As of this time (04.08.05), we already distributed half of our invites. I hope we can distribute all by the 15th. A lot of our guest find our invites pretty. Great job by Unifair! =)

04.05.05

M0rn1ng picked me up from work today and we went to Market Market to look around for bridal shoes. We didn’t see anything that caught our fancy because we hadn’t have the chance to really look around as M0rn1ng needs to be at work at 9pm. I had a bit of a tampo because I’m adjusting to his new schedule again. (As a background, M0rn1ng works for a call center. His usual working sched is 10pm but with DST, it will move up an hour earlier). I hate it when his work is at 9pm because we have no enough time to bond and talk about things. He knows about it so we fixed our schedule to accommodate each other…then, i’m happy again.

After he left for work, I started working on the packaging of our souvenirs. I was able to do 5 boxes.

04.06.05

M0rn1ng & I were able to meet today for 30 mins before he went to work. I showed him the souvenirs and he liked the packaging. At first, he didn’t like the idea of wrapping the boxes but I am really stubborn and persisted that it should be wrapped. Finally he gave in. So, I’m really happy that he appreciated my idea.

I had so much fun wrapping that I forgot all about the time. I slept at around 12:30am and was able to finish 20+ boxes.

04.07.05

My mistake again. All these staying up late made me sick. I woke up with a splitting headache and sore throat. It was a good thing that work is not that hectic so I called in sick.

Our landlady arrived at around 8am. A minute after Morning arrived. It was a great chance to finally introduce him to our landlady and inform her of our wedding plans and that we are to stay in her house. She congratulated us and said that there’s no problem as our contract allows us to have 5 people occupying the house. =)

After our landlady left, we had breakfast. M0rn1ng, knowing that I was sick, brought breakfast and medicine. He also gave me a quick massage. In as much that I would love him to stay, I asked him to leave because he’s tired from work and he needed rest. He left at around 9am. I just slept the whole day.

04.08.05

Thank God that I’m feeling better now. The rest that I took yesterday really did the trick. Good decision. Since I’ve been on leave yesterday, I had a lot of work to do. 300+ mails on my outlook plus some issues. Thankfully, work was done at the end of the day.

With only 1.5 months before our BIG day, I’m beginning to panic with all the things that we should do. We made a schedule so that we can stay focused on the last leg of the preps.
