Last Month’s Earnings

I was looking at my Paypal earnings for last month and I felt sad by what I saw: earnings dropping so low. I didn’t have much time to blog so what do you expect. I’ve been so busy in the office not to mention how stressed I am each day. Don’t get me wrong, I love what I’m doing now and I have never felt this challenged in years. So I just hang on and fight. This too shall pass.

I’ll just blog in the weekends and if I have time before leaving to work. Besides we’re not in a hurry to earn this money though we could use it to buy XBox.

Another Blog?

I was looking and analyzing my online earnings this morning. It went down by almost 50 percent since October last year. That was the time when Google had an update and the PR of my blog went sinking down to the bottomless pit. Hehehe. I mainly get my earnings through just one company now as compared to before; I had it coming from another 4 different companies.

It has its good sides as I wasn’t pressured to write when I don’t feel like it and I can concentrate with my day job more. But somehow I miss the income coming in. Do you think there is still a chance that my PR will be returned? I think only Google knows. In the meantime, we have to make do of what we have. We’re thinking of putting up a new blog but I still don’t know what niche it would be. I’m gearing towards food and health blog as this is one topic I love the most. We love to cook and we love to visit restaurants. We can share all our recipes and our take on different food stuff. I even have this idea to co-author it with my sister.

But let’s see. :) If my workload wouldn’t be that heavy then maybe this can push through. We’ll definitely let you know so stay tuned. :)

This is too good to keep to myself so I’m passing this along to eight other bloggers that I admire in the blogosphere. Their blogs I frequent because I love reading their posts and look at their pictures.

Finding the Best Host

Having your own domain and hosting is great. I’ve tried blogging through Blogger and then Wordpress but nothing beats having your own website. For one, you can tweak it to your liking and you can earn extra bucks from it. I had my very own site 2 years ago and my friend Amore helped me set it up. So I didn’t have any problems choosing my own host. We chose Hostmonster and so far we are happy with it. There are no downtimes and it is relatively easy to set up.

I have friends who wanted to have their own site but I cannot recommend Amore any longer as she is no longer accepting any for hosting services. I always refer them to this great web hosting resource site. Webhostingrating.com has comprehensive consumer reviews for different web hosting services out there. This will make you equipped to choose the best hosting service available and well-suited for your needs.

Is It Time to Setup a New One?

My blogs have been a little bit quiet since the last BIG G update. No need to guess why. It happens and I stopped thinking about its cause a long time ago. I think the best way to go is still have multiple blogs. At least you have more avenues to earn. Plus I’m also thinking of going pro-blogging full blast.

I’m still hesitant because it is a big leap of faith but this is something I enjoy doing at the moment. Writing my thoughts and sharing it with the whole world. I would also want to spend more time with the family. I hope M0rn1ng will be able to get a stable income in the next couple of months so that I could muster the courage to start my plan.

I’m thinking of starting another blog or two. It will be niche blog which deals with Food and the other would be around health or interesting facts. That would be the topics I would enjoy writing about. My two current blogs were all hosted by my dear friend Amore so I didn’t have any problems setting it up. Since she is expecting a baby soon, I don’t think she can host my future blogs so I’m trying to find my way and learn more about this hosting thing.

The best sites are those that show you web hosting ratings. This is the best way to choose because it lists all the hosting companies side by side with its ranking, price, reviews, and other pertinent information. I found out that our current host, Hostmonster is ranked at number five. Not bad huh. Looking at it, I might try Web Hosting Pad as the reviews are great, lands at number two in the rankings and is reasonably priced at $3.96.

When I took a look at the web hosting awards and I was torn to choosing Globat.com. This is because they’ve received a lot of awards such as, Best Budget Hosting, Best Blog Hosting, Best PHP Hosting, Best Email Hosting, and Best Ecommerce Hosting. Which do you think is best?

Anyway, I’m new to all this things so I am very thankful to the web hosting tutorials I was able to find. I hope I could decide in a few months time. Deep in my heart I know that this is the best way to go. I’m just afraid to leave all the financial security a day job gives.

SEO

If you are into online selling or you simply have a website that you want to market, then you are familiar on how important SEO is. SEO is short for Search Engine Optimization. It is crucial because it increases web traffic and more people visiting a site, the more likely one will get new sales.

A good SEO program accomplishes this because it increases the chances of one’s website appearing on top of search engine results. I’ve read about a good Austin search engine optimization that ensures one’s site to be tanked at the top of today’s popular search engines, including Google, Yahoo, MSN and Ask Jeeves.

This is something worth checking if you want to increase your online sales.

Happy ONE Year

It’s been a year since I got my own domain and web hosting for this nicemorning blog. I couldn’t be happier because finally I have more flexibility and free hand in this site, not to mention some monetary opportunities opening up as well. I was fortunate because Amore, a very good of mine help me up with the setup. She did all the legwork, the domain registration, the hosting setup and the transfer of my post from free wordpress to this new site. All I have to do is sit back and relax.

If I have to do it all by myself, it might take forever before I get this up and running. I have to research and find the best web hosting company to get hosting services from. It is important to choose wisely as a crappy service would translate to frequent downtimes to your site.

I good place to do this research is webhostinggeeks.com. It ranks the web hosting companies out there and it gives consumer reviews. Our current host is hostmonster and it is currently on top five. It offers cheap Unix hosting. So far we are happy and satisfied with it.

Happy one year to us Amore! :)

It’s back!!!!!

You might have read the post about my phone flushed in the toilet last Tuesday. Then I’m happy to say that I had it back. My sister and I were having this conversation at the 8F canteen at lunch time.

Sis: Do you know that the 8th floor CR is under repair?
Me: Really? Which stall are they fixing?
Sis: The one on the leftmost corner.
Me: That’s where my cell phone dropped.

It must have cause blockage so they are fixing it. I received a call from my husband at around 4pm.

M0rn1ng: I have good news for you. They’ve rescued your phone.
Me: Really? Are you kidding? How did you know?
M0rn1ng: Somebody from your office maintenance called me up. Apparently, your SIM is still working and they found “mahal ko” in your contacts. I told them to return in to you at the 18th floor.

A little while after, Manong guard returned my phone. I don’t have the face to show up to the maintenance guys who brought it back. I just asked manong to thank them for me. They are still wondering how did the phone got in the toilet bowl.  (Amore was right)

I’m not sure if the phone can still be repaired. I’ll check and see tomorrow. It’s still good news that the SIM is still working. Even though I already got a new one, I can still have my existing contacts transferred. I’m so happy! :)

And oh, this blog got its PR back. It’s back to PR2. Happy weekend to all! :)

Great Find

I’ve been busy at work these past few days that I’ve neglected my blogs. As expected traffic went down too, there weren’t a lot of visitors compared before. There isn’t anything new to read that’s why.

I’ve always wanted to market my blog so I’m glad I get to know what Buzzfuse.com can offer. I sign up and put a widget like this in one of my posts.

I activated it and invited my friends to review it. It is also open to everyone so new people who will find my topic interesting can visit my blog. After a few hours of adding it to my blog, I got a lot of new hits.

Isn’t that great?
