Daddy Sells, Mommy Sells

There are hundreds of different jobs that you can do. Some prefer the 8 to 5 job which means working 8 hours a day, usually in the office. While others are in to self-employment and doing business by themselves. They may sell products directly, through telemarketing, online, or even through house to house. Because of economic instability, many employees who work in the office, make some additional money by selling different products to their workmates. About five years ago, I tried selling nappy cakes to my office mates and online too. Selling  women’s dresses has been rewarding for me too since the clothes I sell are of high quality and very nice designs. My friends and office mates love them. Now daddy sells, and I too.

Finding Jobs

Trying to find a job is tough work. Worldwide inflation and limited demand for unskilled workers have made jobs harder to come by.  If you live in a rural area, your job search could start with local farms and orchards, or you can look for some type of yard work. If you live in a large town or city, try looking in the newspaper help-wanted ads. Help-wanted ads can tell you what qualifications are needed for a certain job and can help you to explain to the employer why you can fill those needs. Teachers, employment agencies, personnel offices and friends or neighbors who already have a job are other sources you can tap. And do not forget your parents too. Online websites such as work philly can help you find the right job that you are looking for.

Where to Find Good Advice

Some schools provide counselors for students to help them choose a career or help them set goals. They would probably recommend that you take on higher education and get better chances of landing a high paying job or just learn a practical skill and get a part time work. When looking for advice, it’s best to go to those who really have your best interests at heart and who have valuable experience in the working world. Likely your parents can be of great help in this regard. They know your capabilities. They would have a different perspective on careers than school guidance counselors would. A calm and frank discussion with them may provide you with just the direction you need to find a successful career.

Resumé Fraud

While job applicants generally want to present themselves to potential employers in the best possible light, some resort to outright fraud. A study by the employment screening company Australian Background found that of 1,000 job seekers, 21 percent had lied to prospective employers about their qualifications, reports The Sydney Morning Herald.  Additionally, “60 per cent of those with criminal convictions failed to admit them, even when asked,” states the paper. “Most applicants during pre-employment screening may claim that they ruled the world,” says employment executive Gary Brack. “But when you probe a bit further into their last job, it may turn out that they only ruled a little corner of the office.”

Last Friday’s Good News

It has been a great Friday for me when I heard the news. At long last, the thing that we’ve been waiting for is finally going to happen. I hope that it’s good as I imagined it would be.

I begin to think that patience is really a virtue and one must sometimes persevere to get the things that he wants. Sometimes we must face the adversity and work through it as it is the only way that your hard work will be rewarded.

I am happy because I think it is a start of something good. :) I’ll share it in detail as soon as it has been finalized.

Where are You?

I’ve been MIA for the past couple of days. It’s the busy sched I had at work that hinders me from blogging. This year is no different than last year’s in terms of toxicity. Good thing there are lessons learned last year in dealing with some of the challenges so it becomes more bearable. I know nothing can kill me, not this. Naks!

We’re also busy testing the infrastructure and the systems that will support our expansion project. We are also now ordering machines, IP phones, Linksys routers, and other stuff that we need. And up to that are the everyday conference calls for the work sharing plan. It’s a challenge gladly undertaken. So pardon me if I hadn’t been around much.

There’s too much going-on offline.

April is the BUSIEST Month

So far…. We’re moving fullblast with our team expansion plans. We will

1. Hire almost thrice the current team size.
2. Handle triple of the current production volumes.
3. Migrate and transition work from another offshore office. We’re doing this virtually.

There are just too many things to take care. Hiring, procurement of systems and equipment that we will be using. Just the mere thought wears me BIG time. Good thing that the big bosses planned it and worked on subdividing it to phases. So at the moment, I just focus on each phase at a time and try to do everything according to the proposed timelines. I know we can do it although i feel that it is both daunting and overwhelming.

There are those systems and equipments that I am not familiar of…things like KVM switches, splitters and the like. Good thing that the head of our IT is in full support. I hope we will be able to pull this through. :)

Sunday Pans

It’s going to be the last day of this weekend and I need to prepare for next week’s jam- packed schedule. I have 2 interviews tomorrow, a couple of meetings and a town hall. It’s been a year since we became one company with R. It’s been a difficult year but with everybody’s help we pulled it through. It still is a challenging year ahead but I think we’ve gone through the worst.

This year we will deal with our expansion and we have to prove our site capacity. I hope everybody in our team is willing to take up this challenge. Anyway, since I will be doing a lot of things next week, I wanted to plan ahead to avoid cramming. I’m asking M0rn1ng if I can drop by the office later today and get my files. Then I can watch them at Glorietta activity center while I get ahead with my work.

I hope he agrees. I know he wanted to go out with his friends to play basketball today. Let’s see how it goes. Sometimes I feel so guilty as I spend less time with family now. Babawi ako next month when we leave for our summer vacation in Puerto Galera. For now, work muna. :)

My Busiest Month of the Year

April is my busiest month so far. I am pioneering so I have to spend at least 50 hours in the ministry. As of yesterday, I already have 31 hours. Not bad huh? I need to be on track as next week, my youngest sister will be graduating. Mom and Dad will be here so that means less time for me to engage in the ministry on that weekend. They will be here starting Friday and will be leaving on Sunday night. We are planning to have a family picture during that week. I am so excited because we bought similar shirts for this. Girls will be wearing a read striped polo while the guys will be in white.

On the office front, we are starting to get busier and busier. We’re kick starting our team expansion and there are a lot of things to plan and implement so that we can deliver the milestones in the desired timeline. At the moment, my outlook calendar is already packed to the full. I hope I can handle all of these with grace.

I Missed Blogging

I’ve been too preoccupied with so many things offline that I couldn’t find time to blog hop and update my blog. We are working hard on building and cementing the foundation of something of great benefit on the long run and it needs me to prioritize things. So blogging took a back seat for a while.

There are opportunities at work lately and I’ve worked hard and sacrificed too much for the past one year and M0rn1ng and I figured out that it would be foolish not to finish what we’ve started. A few more efforts and I can feel that we will now reap the results of what we’ve worked hard for. Other than that, I also signed up to be an auxillary pioneer in our congregation. That means spending 50 hours in the ministry this month. That requires planning, foresight, schedule, time management and discipline. I hope Jehovah God blesses my efforts and help me to do what I have promised. I’m hoping to find interested people who would like to have bible studies conducted to them. :)

We are having a 3 day holiday next week. I’m hoping to use that in the ministry and update this blog too. I need to finish my writing assignments, and that means writing stuff about cell tower and other topics.

I hope you still visit this site regularly, special thanks to those who do. I know who you are as I have scripts that run reports. :) I hope you also take time to let me know you drop by. It might encourage me to blog as often as I could.
