Cat Talk

Those who know me and have been reading this blog for quite some time know how much I love cats. They are my favorite pet. They are low maintenance, quite affectionate and will not bother you too much like dogs.

I had 2 pet cats in my lifetime. Both of them were given to me when they were still small. I took good care and trained them. They know how to use the litter and provide me company. Yup, they have slept in my bed. I love those gentle purring that they make. I also bought one book that taught me a lot on how to treat them. It provides insights on their nature, how can you best take care of them and how to train them. Then I later became addicted to pet shops with their variety of cat supplies to offer.

Sadly, I have to give them up. The first one when I moved to Makati and my landlady doesn’t allow pets. After 2 years, I found an apartment and I had my next pet cat. However, I had to give her up when I became pregnant with B.boy. It has been a big battle with M0rn1ng and up to now I find myself laughing with his childish “is this cat more important to you than family?” line. Anyway, the cat is in good hands at my in-laws house. I get to see her every now and then and she seems happy and content there.

I hope that when we have a bigger place, we can have a cat again. I’ll name her Kitty Holmes. Hahaha!

We love cats

Boris our CatBoris our CatBoris our CatBoris our catWe love taking care of cats. They are generally low maintenance as long as you train them on where to poo and not to pilfer on food. Cats are territorial creatures, like other felines and love to stay on spots that allow them to see everything in their environment. Just look at Boris our cat in the province. Here she is on top of our water tank, giving her a good vista of the fields at the back of our house. Isn’t she cute? She’s fortunate enough to run around in the province because of the open spaces, compared to the city cats that only stay inside homes. To let them experience the same, cat owners could consider buying cat trees for their feline pets. Some of these cat trees are good for cat scratching, lessening the chances that your cat messes up on furniture such as your beloved couches or sofas. When we have a much more spacious house here in Manila I may consider buying one for our pet cat.
