Bronze Award for Biboy

Awards are given to recognize Kumon students who have progressed in math or reading studies beyond their school grade level, or who have made other significant achievements in their Kumon study. Biboy has already finished 3 levels in five months which made him qualify as a bronze awardee. Daddy and I are so proud of the progress of our little boy now that he can read. He is also good in spelling. His next target is the silver award hopefully by June. Go Biboy we love you so much.

Biboy Loves Numbers

After Kumon’s two week free trial, Biboy is official enrolled to its Math program. His diagnostic test results says that he won’t be starting on the starting level (7A) but instead will start on the next level (6A). And just after 20 days, he finished level 6A and will move to level 5A next week. He can now count dots up to 20 by just the glance of his eyes. Inside the class, he’s using number boards and flash cards under time pressure to get him used to number sequence. I hope Biboy will be just like his me, who loves numbers so much.

Additional Schooling or Not?

How much education is necessary to earn a living? It seems in many lands that the level of schooling needed to support oneself is higher than it was a few years ago. Many college graduates even pursue online degree programs that will boost their chances of getting employed.
However, many have provided well for themselves and their families without the benefit of a college degree. Some of these have taken courses at vocational schools, technical schools, or community colleges, at a minimal investment of time and money. Others have developed a trade or a service without any form of specialized training at all. With a record of dependability, they have managed to maintain steady employment.

Kumon Math & Reading

We are so excited about enrolling Biboy in Kumon this month. Morning and I attended the parent’s orientation last Saturday and Biboy took his diagnostic test in reading and math Monday. We decided to enroll him in the reading program and he’ll start attending class tomorrow. I’ve already filed a leave in the office so I could accompany him to school. I’m so excited.

Online Trainings

I was looking at different types of online training courses yesterday. I would like to further develop myself by arming myself with knowledge. I know this is what I need to be able to do my job better. It’s our personal responsibility to educate ourselves and grow professionally. I’ve seen some good ones pertaining to leadership and management.

Then I found one that intrigued me. It’s something about medical coding training courses. I found out that medical insurance billing/coding and its related occupations are among the fastest growing opportunities in the healthcare industry. I’m sure this will interest those who wants to be employed by the health care sector.

Congratulations Sissy

img_0992.jpg

Our bunso has graduated from the university last Saturday. We were all beaming with happiness and pride. Finally, our parents were done with their financial obligations to us. She already got a job a few weeks back and we wish her all the best in her chosen path.

It’s good to be back to our Alma Matter again. It’s been 5 years since my other sister graduated and I haven’t been back since then. The college of home economics which our bunso is a part of had a memorable and heartfelt graduation rites. I find tears rolling down my cheeks as the class valedictorian had her speech. It feels good to know that UP has given so much chances for people from humble beginnings. With world class education, they can uplift their own and their family’s lives.

We will be forever grateful to be Iskolar ng Bayan. I hope in our small ways we can pay it forward. :) Congratulations to all the graduates. Mabuhay ka Iskolar ng Bayan!!!! :)

University Education

I’ve heard that the UPCAT results are already out. I can still recall how ecstatic I am when I passed the exam 12 years ago. One of my dreams came true and I will be getting premier university education. I didn’t have much choice of schools back then as we are of limited resources too and I don’t want to burden my parents with sky-high tuition fees. Up until now, I am grateful to be able to be granted that privilege.

There are a lot of less fortunate kids who needs education as a ticket to raise their families’ standard of living especially in a third world country. It is noteworthy to know that there are a lot of universities nowadays who opens its doors and give financial aids to these deserving ones. Even single working adults who have neither time nor sufficient funds continue their education were given a fair chance.

In the US, Capella University, a fully online university that has built its reputation by providing quality education for working adults announced that more than 75 percent of the online university’s students receive financial aid. This is great news for those who want to try get additional degree from a university online. It gives fair chance to everyone and those underprivileged financially but willing to work hard can improve their lot in life.

Is Nouveau Riche a Scam

I know there are a lot of people who made a fortune through real estate. I believe that it is a lucrative business. You just need to have the fundamental knowledge on the ins and outs of the real estate investing. One thing that interests me is the Nouveau Riche University.

However I hear a lot of comments about this Nouveau Riche Scam. I wonder if this is true. But reading dozens of success stories from their alumni students, I was convinced that it isn’t true.

One of the reasons why they call it Nouveau Riche Scam is because of the exorbitant tuition fees. I don’t think it is a valid claim as it is reasonable enough if you compare it with the learning modules that come with it. Their teachers and professors are the most successful and qualified in the field and they teach you how to avoid real estate investing mistakes and scams.

So no I don’t believe in Nouveau Riche Scam. It is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to get educated in real estate investing. The students who’ve attended the university are proof that you can generate money through real estate if you know how. Most of them have quit their day jobs and have enough to sustain their daily expenses. That’s what I call financial freedom.

Reminiscing

I love going to National Bookstore especially when I was still in my elementary days. I remember that during this time of the year, my mom will take us there to buy our school supplies. I would pick out those fancy notebooks, binders, highlighter and pens. I am very choosy with notebooks. I want the lines to provide ample space for me to write on and the surface smooth. Then I would always choose bic pens because the tip is fine and it last very long.

My penmanship was never fancy so I should have the right notebook kand pen so that it will look presentable.

How about you? Do you enjoy your bookstore trips when you were still in school?
