Top Ten Most Beautiful in Phil Showbiz

Published by nice under Beauty, Entertainment

I am always watching the show from QTV 11 where they list out top ten of whatever every Sunday. Last week’s episode is about the one in my blog title. I was curious to know because I have my own list of Phils Most Beautiful Women in Show Business. True enough, Dawn Zulueta, Gretchen Barreto, Kristine Hermosa, Bea Alonzo, Iza Calsado and KC Concepcion was there. Their criteria is based on classic and timeless beauty, symmetric face and flawless skin. I bet none of those ever needed acne treatments.

I’m just wondering why Angel Locsin did not get into the list. I think she’s really beautiful. Is it because they do not want to give her any exposure since she moved to the competitor TV Network? Hmmmm.

Dalja’s Spring

Published by nice under Entertainment

I chance upon the Koreanovela Dalja’s Spring on primetime TV last night. I think I like it because of the element of fun in the story. It is about a 33 year old single girl who has been looking for her one true love and her race against time. It comically and realistically portrays the pursuit of true love of a thirty something woman. There are some scenes that really crack me up.

Then I came to realize why Dating Affiliate Programs are really popular. And there is no savvy and effective way than to look for it online. I’m not really sure if it works but some swear by it. They also said that they have opportunity to make money through these affiliate sites.

Has anyone of you tried this?

Crazy about Koreanovelas

Published by nice under Entertainment

My sister is carzy about Korean soaps. She has a DVDD of almost everything. I know that some local channels have those dubbed versions but she prefers to hear the native language and relies on the closed captioning for interpretation. I think those with subtitles are better than the ones dubbed in our local language when it is properly done, but there are those versions where the translations are really funny. hahaha! Have you encountyered those?

Anyway, her recent favorite is “Witch Yoohee”. She already finished all the episodes. I envy her because she has time to watch. Maybe when our little boy is a bit older and I’m just staying at home then I have time to watch these kind of stuff.

My Uncle the Cowboy

Published by nice under Entertainment, Sports

My uncle who now lives in Texas is a true blue cowboy. He loves cowboy films and horses too. If he has the money, he would like to buy his own horses. But since it is possible at the moment, he’s contented to watch rodeo shows.

National Finals Rodeo is one of the most famous rodeo event in the US. Wrangler jeans is the title sponsor of the 1-day event most popularly known as NFR or sometimes as Super Bowl of Rodeo. It has seven events namely: bareback riding, steer wrestling, team roping, saddle bronc riding, tie-down roping, bull riding and barrel racing. Barrel racing is the event for women. These showcase the skills of cowboys and cowgirls. The winner is awarded the World All-Around Rodeo Champion.

This event is extremely popular so that you will find that National Finals Rodeo tickets are usually sold out. My uncle buys them in advance so that he is sure to watch it live.

He has watched these shows for the past couple of years and he buys tickets as early as now. The event will take place on December. I find it OA but he says that this is the only way that he can get the best seats available.

I Love David Cook

Published by nice under Entertainment

Did you get to watch the last episode when American Idol had the Mariah Carey night? I was absolutely blown away with David Cook’s rendition of Always Be My Baby. I was like WOW! He’s not only a good singer but a brilliant artist as well. I could predict that he could be this season’s winner.

Kristy Lee Cook was out of the competition. There were tears of sadness but I don’t see any bitterness as I think she knows that she has already stretch herself to the limit and this is as far as she could go. I wish Brooke would be eliminated next. Hahaha!

Ramiele’s Out

Published by nice under Entertainment

Ramiele was booted out last night. Sayang talaga. She really became emotional after she found out. Maybe because she thought she can give more and stay on the competition longer. I personally believe that she’s got more talent than Christy, Shayeesha and Brooke. But then, her recent performances don’t show that she’s pushed herself too far. They were all boring.

Sayang talaga kasi I was hoping she could make it up to top 5. Well, my bets are the 2 Davids. I know they can make it to the final 3.

American Idol

Published by nice under Entertainment, Just Me

I’m totally hooked to American Idol. I just love David Cook. Have you seen his rendition of Billie Jean? It was awesome and so original too. I have the feeling that he can come out as this season’s winner.

On the side note, I’m sad that Chikezie was booted out. I wonder how long will Ramiele survive in the competition. I think she’s great and she got talent. She just needs to reinvent herself. Judges think that she’s pretty boring sometimes.

What about you? Who’s your bet this season?

Camping We Will Go

Published by nice under Andre Miguel, Entertainment, Travel

I remember that we went to Tagaytay on Holy Week last year. It was a fun time with my parents. We loved the cool weather and Papa even suggested to have a camping there next time.

I agree that camping will be a good experience for our little boy. It will be a great way to explore the outdoors and have a cool adventure with nature. We will try that one next year. I’m sure it will be one experience that B.boy will never forget.

I’m looking for nice camping gear to help us get ready. I’m so excited to plan about this.

Telenovelas and Koreanovelas

Published by nice under Entertainment, Just Me

Ever since Spanish telenovelas and Koreanovelas hit the airwaves, I’ve been so crazy looking for DVDs with great closed captioning.

I like it better if I can hear the dialogues in their native language rather than dubbed, because the true meaning of the words are sometimes lost. Besides, the actors and actresses voice are always better than the dubbers.

My all time favorites are Meteor Garden, Stairway to Heaven and Full House.

National Treasure : Book of Secrets

Yep, we spent Sunday night in a movie date. We were not supposed to bring B.boy along as lola and lolo cannot make it with us. But he was whining non stop when we are getting dressed and we don’t have the heart to leave him behind. Good thing my youngest sister agreed to come with us. At first she was hesitant as it was the first time that the little one will be left to her care. We left them to play at Dave’s Fun House and we instructed them to eat at Jollibee after.

After buying burgers, nachos and drinks at Taters, we entered the movie house. It was a bit full. Good thing we arrived just in time. I loved the sequel as much as the first one. The most exciting part was when Ben kidnapped the president and has to find the clue at the Book of Secrets. :) It was very entertaining and I am glad that M0rn1ng and I had gone to a movie date after so many months.

We’re wondering how B.boy and her tita fared during the two hours that we’re gone. This is what we saw… Continue Reading »

Another Willie Scandal

I was listening at the news this morning when they brought up the scandal that the TV host Willie Revillame currently faces. He allegedly bought a Ferrari hot car which he vehemently denies. He only paid one million for tax. Hahaha! Will he get away with this, this time around?

Anyway, that is not surprising. A lot of rich people here in this country can evade paying correct taxes. In the US there is a legal way of ridding tax debts once and for all and that is through American tax relief. Would you know if there is something like that here in the Philippines?

Pacquiao’s Upcoming Match

Do you watch Manny Pacquiao’s boxing matches? Whenever he has a fight, everything in this country stands still. Everyone is glued in their TV sets. Some are in the cinemas to watch it on the big screen. Others who are fortunate enough and have lots of money watch it live. Every Filipino feels a certain pride whenever he wins in his fights. It never fails to lift the Filipino spirit.

He will have another match and this time with Juan Manual Marquez on March 15, 2008 at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, Nevada. They will again face each other after four years in which Manny Pacquiao knocked Marquez down three times in the first round only to have him come back and end up with a split draw. The question now is who will prevail this time?

I’m sure fans will now be planning to buy their Manny Paquiao vs Juan Manuel Marquez tickets as early as now. I know there will be a lot of supporters who would even go to Vegas to watch it live. I’m sure my father in law will buy tickets to watch this match in the cinema. Maybe it will be shown in IMAX as well. But I guess hubby will be content in just watching it at our TV at home.
