Car Scratches

Since we got our first car last April, Morning made sure that it is always clean and free of scratches. He even borrowed Lolo’s Scratch remover to get rid of minor scratches usually found in the door handles. On its 3rd monthsary, Daddy brought Peep in a car wash and had it waxed as well. Last Sunday one of our friends in Las Pinas invited us for dinner.  Michael told us that his car was scratched big time by unidentified drug addict in their neighborhood. Other cars in the vicinity were also victimized. Because of this, he arranged for an auto insurance claim after having the incident reported to the police. To make the claim much faster, he provided all the information needed to the insurance company like the date and location of the occurrence, insurance card and also the police report.

Little Boy’s First Grad Party Experience

This post is already late but better late than never. :)

Two weeks ago, the daughter of our family friend graduated from pre-school. On June she will be a first grader. Time flies so fast. When I first associated to this congregation, Eleynah was only 2 years old.

They have a very nice party at their house, complete with balloons and other decors. He’s our little boy giving his gift.

The little boy had a great time partying with the other kids and playing with the balloons. I guess with this experience he is quite excited to start school next year.

Afraid of the Doctor No Longer

Our little boy had his check up two weeks ago. He was given a Hepa vaccine. We are so proud because he cried no more. The vaccine was administered in his arm. I tried to distract him but when the needle came in, he looked and saw what the doctor was doing. Good thing our pedia is really quick and the deed was done in no time. All he said was “it hurts”.

011.jpg

He was given a very nice band aide with stars and we told him how proud we were that he did cry at all.

013.jpg

We treated him by riding the MRT and going to Trinoma. We had lunch with my long time friend, Ate Bebe at Heaven n Eggs. The boys went to Timezone after while we girls catch up.

It was a fun day. Ate Bebe also gave him a Crocs sandal. It looks good on him. J His next pedia visit will be when he turns four. A year to go.

Petra & Pilar – A Different Kind of Carinderia

img00099.jpg

I always see this resto and it looks enticing to go to. I have the impression that it is a pricey as the interiors look so nice. It was not until Chef Ed Quimson was featured in QTV 11’s Secret of the Masters that I discovered it was otherwise. It was his and Katrina Ponce Enrile’s concept of a “Sosy” Carinderia. He mentioned in the show that it showcases Filipino and Spanish fusion food at a very affordable price. It sounds to interesting so I listed it as one of our “to visit” restaurants.

I got the chance when my best friend and I celebrated our friendship anniversary. It was very near our office and our houses so I figured out that this is the best place to go and eat. When we got there, we discovered that they’re having a paella night. So we got a seafood paella (Paella Cristina @ 180).

I love this as it is very flavorful, you can taste wonderful broth that blended beautifully with the shrimp, chorizo, mussels and other sea foods. Read more…

Helping a Friend

My friend has a husband who is good in doing repairs and machines. He’s what you can call a real handyman. He is skilled in handling tools of every sort. I was even surprised when he managed to construct a small dormitory in the vacant lot beside their house. They are currently renting it out and generates passive income for them. They have saved a lot on the construction work as it was all done by her husband.

Their anniversary is this month and she is wondering what gift to give. I told her to give something related to what he enjoys. The closest we can think of are additional tools for him to work with. We’re looking for sites that sells stuff  work holding and the like. Pretty hard considering we are ignorant when it comes to men stuff. Do you have anything to recommend?  :)

Unconfirmed Plans

We’re still unsure if we’re going to go to Marikina this 28th. We’re supposed to borrow my inlaw’s van but I think it will be unavailable at that time. It will too much of a hassle to commute going there so we might scrape this off in our plans.

There are times when M0rn1ng and I talk about buying a car for our family. It could be pretty convenient especially when we go on out of towns and conventions. Also, we no longer have to take a cab whenever we go around the city. However, having a car entails costs too: gasoline expense and maintenance. It is also expensive to buy car parts. So we think that we’re better off without one at this point of time. Anyway, from where we live everything is accessible, be it office, kingdom hall, and malls.

Gadgets

Maybe you have noticed that I seldom post pictures on my blogs anymore. This is because our digicam is busted. This saddens me as the little boy is growing up and other people have more photos of him than we parents do. So I really plan on buying a new one.

Just this morning, I was chatting with my good friend Amore and she agreed to canvass and buy something over there. Good thing I still have some Paypal money with her. hehehe. I’m just too happy as it is cheaper to buy is over there than here. Since my lotions will be shipped by the end of this month, then the digicam can still be accomodated. Thank you so much Amore! You are heaven sent. :)

Oh if only I have money to spare then I would buy a PS3 for M0rn1ng too. For sure he would love playing with it. But this is the time to tighten our belt and only essentials should be bought. I promise to buy him one when we have money to spare.
