Dr. Dermatologist

At last I was able to visit my dermatologist today to check on the eczema on my hands. She told me to never use scented lotions, soaps, dishwashing liquids, powders or any chemicals that will aggravate the condition of my skin. I was even scolded that I should not return to her again if ever I will not religiously follow her directions. She prescribed some medications for my eczema and hopefully it will heal soon. I think my skin problem is nothing compared to other people who are suffering from malignant Mesothelioma which is an asbestos caused cancer of the serous membranes that surround many of the body’s vital organs. Now I have reasons to obey my doctors orders.

Germ-Free Home?

Every household wants their home free from bacteria and germs. However the fantasy of a germ-free home is not only absurd, but it is also largely pointless. Unless you share your home with someone very old, very young (under 6 months) or very ill, the few hundred bacteria on a countertop, doorknob or spoon pose no threat to your health. True, perishable food that is left out on a counter for a number of hours can become contaminated with bacteria and cause food poisoning. To prevent that from happening, store perishable food items in the refrigerator. Always change your refrigerator filter when necessary. As for protecting yourself from bacteria, there is no need to use antibacterial products. Just wash your hands with soap and water a few times a day, and leave it at that.

Ten Minute Nap

Sometimes I feel a little drowsy at work especially after taking my lunch. According to some sleep experts, the best remedy for afternoon drowsiness “is simply to take a ten-minute nap”  Some companies in the U.S. have installed napping rooms—with beds, blankets, outdoor pillows, and soothing sounds for their staff, along with alarm clocks set to sound every 20 minutes. My Diet Plan

Last month, I started dieting. My diet plan is very simple. My last meal for the day would always be before 6pm. Every time I come from work, I just eat fruits and lots of water before retiring to bed. I believe I’ve lost about 5 pounds doing the routine and hoping to lose another 5. I am just so happy that this diet plan works for me. However my friend is still taking in weight loss pills to aid in her dieting. She consulted her doctor regarding it and so far she has lost three pounds in 2 weeks.
