They have a wide range of selection on frames and lenses at a very affordable price of $8. Why is the price low you may ask? It is because the do direct selling and eliminates the middlemen. What if?

Published by nice under Beauty, Health, M0rn1ng

We saw one of our old acquaintance at the assembly yesterday and M0rn1ng noticed that she gained a lot of weight. I asked him what if I become bigger than her in the following years. His answer?

“You will never be that BIG mommy because I will take care of you.” I’m not sure what he means by that. I wonder if that includes letting me take in one of those best diet pills out in the market.

What to Do About Bed Bugs

Published by nice under Friends, Health, Home

My best friend is recently complaining about bed bugs in her house. Her 2 year old son was bitten and it pains her to see him itch because of it. Besides the bites don’t look very nice. They were all over his son’s legs and they look swollen red.

I remember that we had the same incident when we were young and mom said it was due to our dirty mattress. She had it vacuum and left in the sun to dry. She said that it kills the pests. It works because we never had bed bugs again.

I got curious and looked it up in the net and found this informative bed bug site. It explains the cause of bed bugs and the effective ways of getting rid of them. I found it very useful and I will ask my friend to read it too. I hope she gets rid of those bugs soon.

Showers

Published by nice under Beauty, Health, Just Me

It is my dream to have a very own spa at home. I always have terrible colds or sinusitis which is a real pain in the neck. I noticed that the incidence is lessened when I go to the spa’s sauna or steam room regularly. The problem is, spa memberships are always expensive and I don’t get the most out of it because I do not have time to exercise. All I want there are the massage services and the sauna and steam room.

Recently, the costs of these items to be installed in the bathroom of one’s home had become affordable. Now you can install a steam shower at an affordable price. Some of these come with additional features such as foot massagers and aromatherapy. Just the mere thought of it is pure bliss to me.

I found out that steam showers should have good and durable shower enclosures that will prevent the water vapor to escape to the other parts of the room as this will damage the drywall paint or wallpapers. This is a great reminder for one contemplating purchase to choose wisely.

How I wish we can afford to have this someday. In the meantime, I will be content in having our bathroom showers. It still can relieve some of the stress by having a hot bath. :)

Where Am I?

Published by nice under Health, Just Me

Thanks for all who dropped by and left me messages. You might be wondering where am I these past few days. Well, other than busy, I also got sick. Boo! I should try to take one day at a time and take care of myself more despite the stress and busy schedule. I’m trying to keep afloat literally and figuratively. I would love to share more but this is something I don’t want to blog about in more detail.

So yesterday, my body succumbed to its much needed rest. I also went to the doctor and she said, my throat is inflamed and my sinuses are acting up. I was given antibiotics and decongestant. Since I’m already there and there was an OB available, I had a consultation.

I told her that my period hasn’t come back yet and it will be three years this 15th that I don’t have it. Not that I’m complaining. I’m actually happy to be free of the monthly visitor and PMS. But I just worry that something may be wrong with me. She said that I need to have a pregnancy test to rule out that I’m pregnant. Then a TransV ultrasound to see if there are cysts on my ovary if that one turn out negative as well then this may be due to hormonal problems. I’m planning to do the tests on Friday. I hope both of the tests turn out negative.

Oh, I took a home pregnancy test and it turned out to be negative so I don’t really think that I’m pregnant.

Sudden Cardiac Arrest

Published by nice under Health

My grandpa died of sudden cardiac arrest almost seven years ago. It took us all by surprise. We didn’t know he was sick. Maybe he doesn’t know either as he is always at tip top shape so he never cared to go for checkups. Had he done that he could’ve discovered that he already has an abnormal heart rhythm.

I still couldn’t believe it that the day before that he was so healthy and he even helped in fixing the broken wirings that were destroyed by the typhoon. The next day he had sudden cardiac arrest.

So it is always good to check and see if we have warning signs of this disease.

Breaking Free From Drugs

Published by nice under Health

Allen, who is starting his second year of drug-free life, says: “To really keep a handle on my emotions, while adding structure to my life, I try to follow one simple rule: Don’t get too hungry, angry, lonely, or tired. (As a memory aid, think of the word h-a-l-t.) I find that when I stick to this rule, I feel my best both physically and emotionally.” Yes, consider what drug rehab experts say about avoiding these four things:

Hungry: Hunger, with its accompanying drop in the blood-sugar level, can cause irritability and depression, say the experts. Therefore it’s essential that at regular intervals the recovering drug abuser eat a well-balanced meal, including vegetables, fruit, and protein. And, of course, he’d do well to avoid junk foods—simple carbohydrates such as candy, cake, cookies, and soft drinks containing sugar. It is also recommended that he avoid alcohol in the light of its mood-changing properties.

Angry: Uncontrolled anger poses a real danger to recovery. Anger causes you to do and say things you may later regret. This, in turn, causes feelings of guilt, depression, and low self-esteem, any of which could easily lead the recovering drug abuser back to drugs. So ask yourself: ‘Why am I angry? What can I constructively do about the situation?’ Try talking things over with a responsible adult before you say or do something you’ll later regret. Express how you feel in a calm, mature way. Talking out your feelings is one of the best ways of dealing with them.

Lonely: Loneliness can trigger such negative feelings as self-centeredness, envy, self-pity, depression. Once again the danger exists that such negative feelings may send the former abuser back to drugs, looking for relief. When you find yourself feeling lonely, try calling a close friend to talk about your feelings. Or try talking to one of your parents. A good way to combat loneliness is to make yourself available to help others.

Tired: Reportedly, this more than any other factor can cause failure in one’s recovery. Being tired not only can make you irritable and depressed but can also cloud your thinking. Therefore, it is highly recommended that the recovering drug abuser have a structured sleep pattern, that he go to bed and get up at regular times so as to get a good night’s sleep.

In a practical way, how does all of this work? Explains Allen: “If I feel irritable or depressed during the course of the day, I just stop and think: ‘Am I too hungry, angry, lonely, or tired?’ Often just a simple adjustment in one of these areas puts me on the road to feeling better—without drugs!”

Health Plans

Published by nice under Health

I always believe in being prepared in anything that might happen. This is the reason why we have life insurances and health plan. Good thing that one of our employment benefits is having a health card for me and my family. We don’t have to worry if somebody gets sick. But if I resign, I will lose all these.

So I’m thinking of looking for a reliable but reasonable health plan like that of Kaiser Permanente. It’s easy to apply because you can get quotes online then find the best health plan for you and your family. After which you can fill up the form and send it through fax or mail.

Hope I can find something this good when I opt to resign.

Skin Care

Published by nice under Beauty, Health

Acne is a disorder of the skin that causes it to be spotted or even disfigured by pimples, blackheads, red swellings, or cysts. People of all ages can be afflicted with it, but teenagers suffer the most. According to some experts, about 80 percent develop acne in varying degrees.

Sad to say, no miracle cure exists. There are, however, acne treatments available, such as gels, creams, lotions, washes, soaps, and facial masks, containing benzoyl peroxide (an antibacterial agent) that can help bring acne under control. Many find that cleansing their skin thoroughly with a soap or wash containing benzoyl peroxide is helpful. However, avoid oily soaps or oil-based cosmetics.

Some have also found that by taking care of their overall health—getting plenty of exercise, being out in the fresh air as much as possible, and getting enough sleep—their acne condition improves. And while the benefits of maintaining a fat-free diet are debated by some, avoiding junk food, as well as eating a balanced diet, obviously makes sense.

In any event, patience is a must. Remember: The problem built up over quite a period of time, so it will not clear up overnight. By sticking to a treatment over a period of time, you may experience some relief.

Meanwhile, do not let a few blemishes crush your self-esteem or inhibit your talking with others. While you may feel quite self-conscious about your skin, others probably notice it a lot less than you think. So try to keep a positive, happy spirit. And do what you can for your acne right now!

Diet Supplements

Published by nice under Beauty, Health

Whenever I watch TV would get a barrage of commercials about weight loss pills. There’s Fitrum, Slenda, and Xenical to name a few. I’m intrigue on what components these diet supplements have.

Then I’ve read about Generic Acomplia. According to research this works on brain receptors in the brain that block cravings for food and some substances. It works on the part of the brain that regulates appetite and energy. So it makes one desire to eat less.

Other than weight loss this is also effective in cutting down nicotine cravings which is perfect for those who want to quit smoking. So it is like hitting two birds with one stone by losing weight and promoting healthy living.

However as in any diet supplements, it should be coupled with proper diet and exercise so that you get the best out of it.
