3 Year Warranty

One of the good reasons that we bought a Honda City is because it has a warranty of 3 years or 100,000 kilometers whichever comes first. The first scheduled maintenance is 1,000 km and it’s free. Also, no oil change is necessary on the first check-up while other vehicles in its class will replace oil on its first 1,000 km. Afterwards, the next scheduled check-up will be after 10,000 kms. or 6 months whichever comes first. Other brands will ask you to have your cars inspected and change oil after every 5,000 kms. or 3 months. Because of this, we will be saving a lot on our car maintenance bills. In the U.S. there are so called mechanical breakdown insurance which is not a warranty. One company includes RV repair, motor home repairs, trailer repair and RV extended warranty.

New House & Lot

Daddy’s house and lot client will be moving to their new home early next year. Right now, his client is canvassing on  different furnitures that he is going to use in his brand new house. He said he will use tiles for the flooring and buy wallpapers too. Daddy suggested that he use Moen kitchen faucets because they look elegant. He will also be looking for flat tv’s, refrigerators, dining tables, cabinets and sofas. I just wonder how moving to a new house feel like.

Germ-Free Home?

Every household wants their home free from bacteria and germs. However the fantasy of a germ-free home is not only absurd, but it is also largely pointless. Unless you share your home with someone very old, very young (under 6 months) or very ill, the few hundred bacteria on a countertop, doorknob or spoon pose no threat to your health. True, perishable food that is left out on a counter for a number of hours can become contaminated with bacteria and cause food poisoning. To prevent that from happening, store perishable food items in the refrigerator. Always change your refrigerator filter when necessary. As for protecting yourself from bacteria, there is no need to use antibacterial products. Just wash your hands with soap and water a few times a day, and leave it at that.

Be Safety Conscious

We can reduce much of the risk in life by simply being safety conscious. Being safety conscious is good insurance in the home and in the workplace. Are your living and work areas neat and free of hazards? Take a look around. Is there anything in a walkway over which people could trip? Are sharp objects or hot appliances—stoves, pool heaters, irons—located where people could get cut or burned? Are there accumulations of paper or other flammable materials? Be especially alert for hazards to children. For example, are alcoholic beverages and all poisonous cleaning products out of the reach of small children?  I always remind Daddy to make sure that our home is safe and free of hazards.

Using Pesticides

From time to time we use pesticides to get rid of ants and cockroaches in our house. However, pesticides can penetrate the protective clothing that users wear. No warning is given as the pesticides do not burn or irritate the skin, from which they can be absorbed into the bloodstream. By use of a fluorescent chemical marker in the pesticide, it was found that even the most protective of covering used—layers of clothing, overalls, and work gloves—was penetrated. Agricultural workers are therefore receiving higher doses than previously thought. The problem is compounded when workers, assuming they are protected by their clothing, wash only exposed areas of skin.

Three Days to go

The long wait is over. Our new ride the 2009 Honda City 1.3A MT will be coming home on Tuesday. We were able to get an excellent deal in Honda Cars Sta. Rosa wherein we got a lot of freebies for our unit. Our SA gave us free full rustproof, Magic tint, door visor, car cover and back-up sensors. The comprehensive insurance will be paid in 6 months without interest. That’s a relief for us since I just received a new life insurance quote from my agent so it won’t hurt much on our pockets. Morning is so excited that he already bought some car accessories yesterday. Three days to go…for our new baby.

Shrewd Shopping

A good wardrobe is not a matter of having a lot of clothes or being up to the latest in fashion but is usually the result of careful shopping and selection. So before you or your husband go shopping for mens tuxedo, take a good look at the clothes you both have. Perhaps you can alter or eliminate things you have not used for some time. Experiment with the clothes you have and discover how you can interchange your items of apparel to create new looks. Doing this will put you in a better position to determine what you really need.
Also, learn to make the most of your existing wardrobe by the effective and varied use of accessories. Such practices will enable you to wear your clothes longer and enjoy them more.

New Look

Our little home looks much better now. I was able to buy small cabinet that can house Biboy’s toys and some of Mornings items. My boys are so ‘makalat’. We also got a small carpet that we placed right in front of our sofa so Biboy could play in the area without dirtying his feet. Biboy even helped me arranged all the furnitures in our living area. We took some pictures of our home and sent it to my parents and sister in Ilocos. They all liked it. However, Morning felt that our sofa bed is getting worn out and wants to get a new one. I wonder if replacing it with an inexpensive contemporary sofas would do the job. I hope we could find one that is comfortable, stylish and durable as well.
