He’s an Acrobat

Our little boy is not into running and jumping. He seldom runs around. We’re happy that he’s still trying his hand on basketball despite that. He can dribble but he can’t shoot the ball as it requires a little bit of bouncing and jumping.

However, he’s really good at tumbling and doing acrobatics. When we were in HK, he saw some guys doing street dance. He was so amazed by what he saw. The people are cheering the dancers on and clapping their hands after the stunts.

I was surprised the next day that he wass trying to copy the street dance routine. I nearly fell off. I shouldn’t have let him watch that had I knew he would be imitating it. Anyways, he cried when I reprimanded him. So what can I do but allow him to do his stunts in the bed. At least we know that he won’t hurt himself there as long as we keep an eye on him.

It taught me a lesson not to let him watch dangerous sports like skateboards flipping and turning on skaetboard ramps. He might just imitate it.

Celebration

We always celebrate at the end of our garage sale. It’s nothing extravagant. A box of pizza, chicken and coke will do. Since we didn’t have much this time, we decided to just cook spaghetti and we’ve ordered chicken from KFC. :) For sure it will be a feast again. I will have to forget diet for now. hahaha! Next day, I would be so guilty that I will be again searching for weight loss products.

I know it’s crazy! :)

Anyway, I am happy since Friday as I was able to accompany little boy to the learning center for 2 straight meetings. I like the teacher running the center as she is very observant and provides generous feedback on our son’s progress. We are most likely enrolling him after the free trial finishes.

Got Rid of Clutter

Since we live in a small house, we’ve learned to hang on to what is essential. If we have stuff that we’re not using for a long time (6 mos or more), we will get rid of them. This enables us to have more breathing space at home.

We hold garage sales every 6 months and it is a success every time. I don’t have work today so I manned it. We have fewer items this time so we have fewer sales. But it’s alright! We were only left 1/4 of the total items we had on sale. The in demand items are the M0rn1ng’s clothes. B.boy didn’t have much this time as it was all sold last time.

We were able to generate 2,000 bucks. Not bad huh?! We got more space at home, said goodbye to clutter and earned some money. :)

Aug 5

We spent almost the whole day yesterday lying in bed while watching Pres Cory Aquino’s funeral rites. It was raining so hard and the weather is very inviting to just hug the boys at bed. I am happy because I got the chance to cook for them. They loved the chicken sopas that I made. It’s heartwarming to feel that they appreciate my cooking.

We went to Glorietta at around 5pm. The activity center is under repair so we have no choice but to hang out at Timezone. Our little boy had loads of fun with all the games there. He likes racing games, bowling and that game when you throw balls to hit the target. I can see that he’s into electronic games and would be asking us to buy him PS3 in a few years time. We better save up for that huh?

We went home around 10pm tired and happy. It was a holiday well spent. I love these little breaks that help me recharge.

Recent HK Trip

You might wonder what happened to me for the past couple of weeks. I hadn’t been updating because I was so busy. I went on a business trip last week. It was the first time that little boy and I was separated and did not go to bed together. It was really heartbreaking the last night before my departure. He was begging me to bring him along. He and his dad stayed in my in-laws’ place for the whole duration of it. He did not cry but he doesn’t want to talk about anything related to mommy. They said it’s his way of coping up.

I was busy the whole week. The workshop runs from 9am to 5:30 and I have to do a bit of work after that. I usually leave the office at around 8pm. That leaves me so little time to spend time with my former office buddies who were transferred to HK. It didn’t give me enough time to shop as well.

It was only on my last two days that I was able to buy something for our little one. I was tempted to buy him a VTECH laptop but M0rn1ng reminded me that her sister already bought one. I am left to choose between a grocery shop set complete with a make believe Honeywell Barcode Scanner and an International Airport set. I choose the last one because he is very fascinated with planes and helicopters. I made the right choice as he loved it the moment he saw it.

It was so great to be reunited with my boys last Saturday. I felt that there is no place like home.

Why oh Why oh Why?

Our little boy is at this stage already and he’s only 3 years old. And boy! He sure knows how to pick the hardest questions of all that keeps my head spinning in trying to outwit him.

One night while we are in bed, he asks:

B.boy: Mommy, why are we humans?
Mommy: Because God created us as such. We are different from animals.
B.boy: Why are we different from animals?
Mommy: Because we are humans.
B.boy: Why are we humans?

By this time, I know that the questioning will just go round and round and he wouldn’t stop. So I just answer him the same things over and over.

B.boy: Bakit ka paulit ulit mommy? (Why are you repetitive Mommy?)
Mommy: Kasi paulit ulit din ang tanong mo eh. (Because your questions are repetitive too.) :)

The other time he was looking at our wedding pictures then he goes:

B.boy: Mommy, Daddy is your husband?
Mommy: Yes he is baby.
B.boy: And you are Daddy’s wife?
Mommy: Yes I am.

The next question really struck me and I was laughing hysterically.

B.boy: Mommy, pag BIG na ako, sino ang asawa ko? (Mommy, who will be my wife when I’m big enough?)

Last night, I was again confronted with a barrage of questions so I figured a way to outwit him by asking

Mommy: Why do you have so many questions?
You know what he said in return? Kasi Mommy, marami akong problema. (Because I have so many problems mommy). Har har har! I don’t know where he got all those reasoning of his and he’s not even going to school yet.

We have to prepare ourselves because we have a very witty child. :)

Listing out Home Improvement Needs

We just have to list it out and plan, otherwise we will just go on and on yapping to do something about it but nothing really happens. We have to make it happen. Our apartment needs repair badly.

1. Patch up wall and ceiling holes.
2. Replace window screens.
3. Repaint house.
4. Buy new undermount sink

I hope we will be able to save up some money for these repairs and have it all done before the end of the year. We are also hoping to cross some of the items in the next months as I think the best approach is to do one of these items every month.

Favorite Things by B.boy

Snagged this from Alpha. But I’m answering as if I am my little boy. These are his favorite things. :)

1. Time of the Day: Night time. This is the time that I get to spend time with daddy and mommy. We are a complete family.

2. Food: I love fish & chicken. I like sinigang, nilaga, and North Park’s Congee.

3. Holiday: This is not really a holiday but we have our assemblies and conventions. I love those times because we go to our hall and see our friends.

4. Season: Summer. I can play outside. :)

5. Movie: Sound of Music. I watch this almost everyday.

6. Pet: I don’t have one at the moment but I would love to have an elephant. However, mommy said that it is too big for me.

7. Color: Yellow & Green

8. Book: My Book of Bible Stories.

9. Song: Song #4 Paraiso, We Thank You Jehovah, Do-Re-Mi, Favorite Things.
